What a nice airbnb rental. A very luxurious design that one would forget as soon as they left. This is a great example of placing the people and social events first.

Agree entirely - lack of colour is just a big miss for me, also feels more like a hotel not a home! So much emphasis on having to crane in a coffee table …. Omg 😮

Interesting- I spend a lot of time in higher-end hotels around the world, and I don’t find them relaxing at all. I find them antiseptic, as I do this. However- that’s just my preference, very nice quality work, I hope you enjoy it 😊.

Interesting how there was not a landscape architect involved in the design when almost half the home design is about blending the outdoor and indoor environment. Perhaps, I'm too opinionated here but there is an overwhelming and undeniable sense of 'it's your home so whatever floats your boat' vibe. Lovely home anyhow!

I agree! The totally open back with floor to ceiling windows works great when you have privacy. But here, the houses across stare directly into your backyard. Landscaping could've blocked those views, which would make this so much better. What's the point of having that gorgeous black tub and open doors and curtains blowing in the wind if your neighbor can see literally everything that goes in there?

fascinating how one's "zen" is another's low hum anxiety. its beautiful but I'd never feel totally relaxed if it was my full-time home - daily life, red wine, pets, dirty fingers, crumbs etc could all leave their marks.

Not to mention folk waving at you as they drove past, and you in the outdoor bath. Also the house appears to be low down, with houses perched up in front of it, so you could also wave at the neighbours while naked in the bath, shaving your legs or whatever, call me old fashioned, but I like spaces where you get naked to be private, bathing is not a spectator sport.

The layout of the interior works. However, it needs color. Why not use the colors of nature and bring them indoors? Earth- tone neutrals can work here, Overall, the concept does work. It just needs color.

It is very nice but it is a little bit too white like a snowstorm. I would have introduced a 3rd colour like a grey or darker shade of white maybe. But as long as she’s happy with it that’s the main thing.

Definitely a well designed home. The idea of an outdoor bath to be enjoyed after a dip in the pool makes sense. I would just want more foliage to separate my zen experience from the neighbors yard and surrounding area.

That's what surprised me - there are at least 5 hours with access to views of the backyard, let alone the tub...not nearly enough natural screening to create the privacy most people would want in their yard, let alone in a bathtub.

She clearly used high-quality materials for the finishes and there is a high degree of attention to detail but it lacks personality/vitality and liveability in the interior. No one wants to visit a home where they are afraid to sit down, eat or drink because they are going to risk damaging something. And I can't imagine making such a huge commitment to a coffee table if it takes 2 cranes, etc. to even get it in place. It's one thing if it's boulders for the landscape or a retaining wall, it's another for a very large coffee table - which means you can't change the rug that it sits on, are limited in how furniture can be arranged, etc. for the remainder of the time they are in possession of the home. And who wants to buy a house that has an enormous boulder in the living room sitting on a white carpet that can't be removed either?

This is beautiful in an artistic way BUT. I think the smallest change to the interior, like a drink on the counter or box of crackers open on the counter or a book to two laying around, anything that indicates people actually live there will detract from it and take away from the zen, so not livable, it can only exist in a certain state. Also, those glass fences around the yard, are terrible for birds, they fly into them, they need to stop making these.
