Another great interview. I like how Chris points out all the wrong things many people comment on the internet and explains how things really go down. @@ASPextra Hello John! I've been here but we have had a tumultuous last 6 months with our 6 yr old daughter. She became gravely ill from Mono and Cat Scratch Disease between late July-September, in and out of the hospital for 7 weeks and so sick. Ran a 104 fever for an entire month but we didn't have any answers for quite some time. We then discovered that her older Brother and Sister also had Mono and were also sick during that time. Got her through that and she then fell and cracked her skull open in November, requiring staples. Thought all that was behind us and 2 1/2 weeks ago she was attacked by a stray cat, tore up her wrist and arm, and we just finished her Rabies shots. (Absolute HELL). This poor child needs bubble wrap armor. She is such a strong trooper but as her Momma, it has taken its toll on me. So I'm always watching your channel, but sometimes it's only enough time to watch and then tend to my babies! Can you remind me of your FB page again? I would love to follow you and the fam on there too. I reinstated my page when needing to ask for prayers and give updates on my baby girl. Great to hear from ya and let both of our families experience a much stronger and healthier 2020. Amen! Edit-This guy reminds me of my good friend, Chris Daughtry. As soon as I saw him I thought of Chris. And THEN realized his name was Chris lol. But this is the BJJ version of Chris lol.

Christopher - Quick, bold, fearless, steady, intelligent, restrained. A powerhouse, a rock. A Man seemingly filled with a deep, poignant sense of compassion. An Angel - the Warrior kind, living and serving as mortal man. Imperfect perfection. Love in action. Picking the right battles, fighting a just war. A vessel for, and an example of God’s grace. Wise yet gentle -the greatest strength, when and where he could be. Calm, and dancing through a raging storm. An asset to family and community. Like some of the finest people I’ve had the privilege to know, if only for a moment in time. He trained, he prepared, he chose. Body, mind, and soul. He matured. He rose, he rose, He Rose. Then, he came back for YOU - black, white, brown, blue, that you might attain an ever golden shimmer like the Sun. Like the Son. Thank you Sir for your service to family, community, Self, and Humanity. Thank you for sharing on this forum. Thank you John for this forum. I hope he doesn’t go broke providing free training for all the LEOs who will be arriving at his door. Perhaps they, their departments, and the community at large including past and present members of the NFL, the NRA, local communities, YOU, and all who want more effective training for police will decide it’s an effort, an undertaking worth advocating for, worth paying for, and worth expanding. Creating -and becoming, true guardians of the community. Always ready to fight the good fight, yet humble, and peaceful at heart with true respect for and due consideration of, but not foolish acquiescence to, the position of the other, and with egos left outside the door. No hands but His hands. No hands but YOURS. #NeverForget - No hands but your hands, no mind but your mind, no heart but your heart. No Heart but mine. Beating back the chaos of a day gone dark by lighting a candle in the night. A thousand candles. OUR candles. However many it takes. WE are the ONE who make a brighter day. WE are the ONE who find a better way. Together. I AM bowing deeply to ALL. What are you going to do about it? What can YOU do about it? What can WE do about it other than come out fighting the good fight when and where we can? Together. Forever. Don’t you want to go? Together? To Heaven? Don’t you want to save the Other? We’ll do it for the Onondaga. And for the generations. We’ll do it for YOUR children, and for mine. It’s time. Let’s Rise. Step by step. Together. Namaste.

I understand they have a tough job and sometimes they aren't afforded the time and might choose the quickest way to end a threat. They are human after all and can make mistakes, but what shouldn't need to be taught is compassion. Thank you John for all you do, and I'm sure many would agree that we need more people like you and Christopher in this world.

Watching the altercation video, I was struck a little bit by Christopher's daughter's comments. She is apparently the one capturing the video on a phone. "Yes, this is my dad. This is my dad, they're fighting right now." . . . She is almost matter-of-fact about it. Only a little bit of stress in her voice, barely perceptible. She is not freaking out, not particularly upset. Why is this? I would guess that most teen girls watching their dad fighting in the street would not be so relaxed. I think, for one, she must be confident in her father's ability to defend himself. She knows he can handle the situation and so, is not worried. Also, it seems she is not concerned her father will pummel the other guy and create all kinds of problems by seriously injuring him. She knows that not only can her dad handle the situation, but, she knows he is capable of doing so while staying calm; that he has self-control, and will handle things without bashing the other guy to a pulp. So, she can stay relatively relaxed and stress free even though she is right there watching it all. What a great thing, as a father, to be able to give your children this kind of gift (especially a daughter)--that they can have this kind of confidence in you and know that they are safe when you are around. And what a great example of how they should handle themselves if they were in a similar situation. (Hopefully, after being trained in BJJ). It is invaluable, with all the hot-heads in this world, that kids have an example of a virtuous, confident, strong man who can defend himself and others and yet stay in control and not fly into a rage while doing so. And even, still care about the well being of the person who attacked him! We need more of this. I worked with teen boys teaching high school last year at an all-boys school, and there are way too many young men who fly into a rage easily and have virtually no self-control. This is a disaster. Here in Christopher and others like him is a good example of authentic masculinity.
@valetudo3334 жыл бұрын
Scott Johnston That was a kind and wonderful comment. You are correct about the relationship my daughter and I have. My entire life has been devoted to giving my family and children safety and comfort. I teach my kid kindness and compassion as well. She knew I would do just what was needed to stop the threat. Nothing more.
