I love how knowledgeable these guys are. I have a couple of the old Roco 2 rail F9's so was glad to hear about that history. As someone who is still just 2 rail DC I was happy to see Atlas offer an analog version of the GP15 too. Thanks for this interview .

The remaining part of that CNJ structure is located at the Nesquehoning Junction area on the Reading & Northern line which is north of Jim Thorpe. Only the bottom brick portion of the building remains.

Good interview. Installing PS3 into Atlas Master Line locomotives is a major revolution in the Atlas product line. I proposed this to Paul Graf on the OGR a couple of years ago, and every bloviating idiot plied on to shoot down the idea.

I listened with interest when the old Atlas ad from RMC was shown (4:06). I've managed to amass a near-complete set (minus all but one of the bobber cabooses) of those Atlas cars. As an adjunct to that effort I _also_ acquired a similarly near-complete set (again minus all but one of the bobber cabooses) of AHM's O scale offerings, 3-4 each of their boxcar, reefer, flatcar and gondola. Someday when I resume making videos those will be their own subject, maybe even combined as a 'plastic wheeled parade' (after I change out the funky hook couplers on the AHM stock) :D

Atlas O was very influential in O Scale 2r; unfortunately their main dude passed (Jim Weaver) and our scale has not been the same since. I do appreciate their current offerings and buy as much as I can - as it figures into my layout. I think O Scale 2r will be making a comeback soon - hope Atlas O is ready for that when it comes...Thanks to Matt and Ross and Eric!

Loved Atlas as a kid when I had an HO layout and now I’m back with them in O Scale. They also make some nice building kits. I hope that they re-release the O scale icing platform. I have the house and would like to add the platform. I can’t find one on eBay or trainz.

I was on the verge on calling TrainZ to come and pick up my stuff to call it a day on O scale until I watched this video. Matt and Ross from Atlas were great! I thought that DCS was dead until this video. Atlas needs to bring back the FM Erie Built with Proto 3.0. Eric, don't get your future wife a train for a wedding gift! They like vacuum cleaners!

I know that dcs engines can run on both dcc and dcs. My questions is, will the 2 rail dcs engines be able to run on 3 rail track? MTH 2 rail engines came with pickup rollers you could add to allow them to become 3 rail scale in effect and operate on 3 rail dcs layouts. I assume the former MTH engines by Atlas can do this, but I’m wondering if their original Atlas engines that are now getting dcs can do this.

I only use TMCC currently as I’m new into o scale. I have some older Atlas F3s that are awesome. Sucks hearing they won’t continue with TMCC but guess this means I need to get a TIU so I can use Lionel and MTH (plus Atlas)

As far the Union Pacific licensing story I believe it was with MTH and Mike Wolf threatening to destroy all Union Pacific inventory till Union Pacific yielded on charging MTH any fees.

you can't run a PS3 engine with the base3. You can, however, run PS3 and Base3 side by side on the same layout.

The Wagontop boxcars were a big disappointment. They were marketed as master line but nothing changed from the weaver version. And it took 2 years to produce.
