What is going on with the Bill in Congress? It’s outrageous IMO that this isn’t standard start for treatment of all PTSD
@joywellnesspartners3 жыл бұрын
We wish it were standard of care too, thanks for your support! Seems like the Department of Veteran's Affairs tried to "furnish the SGB" under the TREAT PTSD ACT, but the bill was only introduced in Congress and then denied. No one voted for it, so it looks like nothing is currently happening---at least not in Congress right now. www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/5648/text and www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/116/hr5648 We are excited that Dr. Mulvaney keeps publishing new research, however, and we can only hope the SGB is going to catch fire through the VA one day. See his article just published over this 2021 Valentine's Day weekend: academic.oup.com/milmed/advance-article/doi/10.1093/milmed/usab056/6134550?login=true

@@joywellnesspartners I shared that article with a doc at the Muskogee VA who is working with SGB. To his knowledge, there are four VAs doing SBG- Martinsburg, WV; Little Rock AR, Richmond, VA; Atlanta GA. That’s a pathetic showing for a country with 50 states, but there should be a forum for all of you (military, VA, and private sector) who genuinely care about helping people with PTSD to discuss this stuff. Major medical conferences are too big, too much time, geographically limiting and expensive to get to. Maybe you all should start having Zoom meetings! 🤔 No doubt there are plenty of PTSD patients to go around.

@@nmartin5551 This is wise! Thank you for the idea of the zoom conferencing, we’ll let you know if we implement this idea, or if we find out who is doing it!

I felt great after the first shot but after the second shot I've developed chest pain and moderate palpitations as well as anxiety and I feel like time is passing by 10x faster. I still have a lot of trouble falling asleep and it feels like my heart is going to jump out of my chest sometimes. I'm honestly scared. I have an appointment with the cardiologist. I hope there will be answers.
@joywellnesspartners Жыл бұрын
how did your appointment go with the cardiologist? we apologize for your response to the second SGB and we hope you got the answers you needed. sometimes one side does work better for one person than another, so another block on the same side as the first shot may be advised.

I’ve read about individuals who have received SGB shot for PTSD and have experienced worse symptoms as a result. Depersonalization and derealization, higher anxiety levels etc. I don’t see this ever addressed in these videos. Can you describe or explain why this response occurs?
@joywellnesspartners2 жыл бұрын
This is a tough question to answer by text. If there is any complex psychiatric case going on before a stellate ganglion block (like maybe they've had depersonalization going on before the block) we advise/help the client to receive a psychiatric consultation before they receive their shot. Does that help?
@jaweileegreen45662 жыл бұрын
Understood thank you . So there are some things psychiatrists may consider as red flags before a patient decides to get the shot. I just wish I knew if I was a good candidate for this. Thanks for the information.

@@jaweileegreen4566 yes, exactly, and if you are interested in a telehealth consult with one of our colleagues who are psychiatrists to deem candidacy, we are happy to help.

Hello. I have severe insomnia. I want to try SGB. However, I have low blood pressure (not dangerously low) and I understand only people with high blood pressure have an overactive SNS. Do you think I could still benefit from SGB?
@joywellnesspartners Жыл бұрын
Yes! Many patients do not have high blood pressure when coming for the SGB, and their success rate is very high.

I just found out about this from Dakota meyer. Wondering if Dr Mulvaney can recommend physicians around USA???
@joywellnesspartners2 жыл бұрын
We believe on his website he mentions a list of reputable physicians that do the SGB procedure in the US. If not, we know his office is always willing to answer questions. Here is his contact info: drseanmulvaney.com/contact-us/ If you're in the San Diego area (or are willing to travel), we also have a team of highly trained regenerative medicine experts that perform the SGB. We're under the supervision of board-certified Dr. Allison Mulcahy. To learn more about our services, please visit joywellnesspartners.com/

Thank you for sharing your experience. No procedure is 100% guaranteed, because each human is unique. It’s a shame you didn’t experience the benefits, as the SGB is approximately 90% effective. We truly hope you get the relief you are seeking.

I agree. I’m sorry you didn’t benefit, but the potential benefit for hundreds of thousands, I can’t tell enough providers in the VA and fellow veterans about this possibility. I’ve been struggling for 17 years with PTSD. I have nothing to lose.

I hope you’ll see that the cost is feasible at JWP, as evidenced best by a client who sent this feedback to us this week: “…I have tried numerous types of treatment, psych meds, therapies, self help, EMDR, tapping, hypnosis etc. Some of these things have been very beneficial, however none of these fore mentioned have benefited me as quickly, easily, and less expensively as Joy Wellness. I am currently disabled, on a tight budget but think the price I paid for my SGB was well worth it. I am including saving $100 month in my budget for a possible future SGB post 1 year…”
