Excellent interview! “There are a thousand correct decisions; what matters is execution.” That stuck with me, especially since his writing is a flow of well-executed possibilities.

Phew! Thank goodness I didn’t botch it! It was fascinating hearing about his creative process, especially as I illogically think of writing in linear terms-write one sentence to the next in order of how it winds up being published-so it was like something clicked in my brain hearing his writing process for both books!

Getting to this interview super late - this is amazing! Read The Spear Cuts Through Water in 2022, instantly fell in love, and was sad to see there wasn't a lot of information about it or the author out there. Thank you for putting this together!! Can't wait for his next book!!

I love that this interview consisted of questions specifically about the characters for each of his books instead of just general questions. Great interview ❤ I am looking forward to Jimenez third work because Ahro and Jun/Keema stories made me cry like a baby I wouldn’t have known about Spear if it wasn’t for your review video!

Evie, what a spectacular interview and you did SUCH an amazing job. Simon (if you read this), thank you for making Evie's year and agreeing to do this interview. Mr. Jimenez, I am dying to know: did the First Terror have a character arc, or did he do everything he did at the end of his life out of selfishness? I can't tell if he's the character with the hardest character arc of all time, or if he remained evil until the end. I love it both ways and you're a MASTER that you can even make one question this.
@SheWasOnlyEvie5 ай бұрын
I think, of them all, the Second Terror was the one most selfish.

@SheWasOnlyEvie SPOILER ALERT Oh, for sure Luubu was evil. I just can't decide if trying to save Jun and letting his mom kill him if it meant getting Luubu right then and there was done because he was really good deep down, or if he just had nothing left to live for now that his sons were dead. Did he sacrifice himself because he wanted his life to end, or because he was trying to save the world, you know?
