I have to disagree with your point around 43 minutes in that most people playing classic play for the endgame (dungeons/raids). I think that’s a massive misunderstanding of who the majority of classic players are. Although I’ll be one of the players who will be going hard on all that endgame content, the whole nature of classic (and MoP is the last expansion in my opinion where this is the case) is to appeal to those players who are trying to stay AWAY from retail which is FAR more endgame focused that any iteration of classic ever will be.

After your main character gets revered you get 100% rep increase from that faction account wide. Then you only need to do some dailies in phase 1. Once Isle of Thunder launches you only need to do one set of isle of thunder dailies a week per character to get your bonus rolls and raid. It took me about 1 hour a week per character.

What was said around the 45 minute mark-I've really enjoyed Cata but I'm just starting to get tired of them helping along the death of versions of WoW by not paying attention to them cus they've got some other version to worry about. They killed Wrath by leaving it far too long then release SoD and how many guilds died? Now with Cata they leave it alone far too long and now release Classic Classic-already guilds were suffering and now it's even worse. Idk I'm getting sort of tired of going round and round with them not really wanting to put full effort into the versions of the game they have out.

This is so well said. What i said in the first place why tf they launched firelands so late and also launched fireland in pre nerf state to make content even harder for a small player base already. They just cant make this game fun to play and make it fast phased

Love your content Scotty but gotta say i don't like these ones. It's suffering from a lack of structure and just rambles all over the place. Any chance you could set out schedule at the start and stick to it roughly? Like: Overview, open-world/questing, class design, class balance, PVP, PVE, Proffessions, Gameplay loops - and just try to focus the conversations a bit? Not all these guys are as good at speaking/ being a fun commentator as you are and they just drop in with random annecdotes about shit.

I am not looking forward to MoP and doubt I bother with it at all. I will have fun finishing up Cata and probably move on. I am not doing a million dailies or painfully leveling/rep griniding alts in WoW ever again. The upgradable loot & "titan-forged" crap will feel super bad 90% of the time. They would have to do massive changes to MoP for me to enjoy it and we all know that isn't going to happen. The Cata population has already dried up due to a total lack of love put into Cata to make it great for today's players (so many friends/guilds are just gone). I would consider Cata Classic a fail on Blizzard's part. Why would I reward them by staying another ~2 years for Panda land? MoP will be the final blow to this classic revisit. Had a good run. See you in PoE2 & Ashes of Creation someday! NO more of my $$$ should be going to Microsoft Blizzard.

MoP has insanely good raids, it will have more players than cata did. The rep and everything is only a thing for the first patch. Challenge modes, rare spawns, proving grounds, brawlers guild, pet battles, much more to do outside of raids as well. And Throne of Thunder into Siege of Orgrimmar is a back to back of goated raids WoW still hasn't exceeded to this day. You playing cataclysm and quitting for MoP is literally the embodiment of that meme where the guy stops mining just before diamonds.

Challenge modes might be fun but don't look to be long term content and I'd rather lick paint till it dries than do open world rares or pet battles and other mindless open world content. It's always been WoWs weakest content pillar.

@@hawkman8706 I have heard the raids were great but I am not sure it will be enough to keep me around. I do not think MoP will have higher player numbers than Cata launch. I only see the population going down. All of the other stuff really doesn't seem fun or rewarding to me. The timeless isle was cool back in the day but that isn't until much later after launch from what I remember. Have fun with it but I am going to invest my time elsewhere. Note: I think the "diamonds" of this content has past us (TBC/WotLK).

@ mop is still much better than cata. And yes population always go down over an expansion. What I mean is I think mop launch will have more than cata launch, the overall will be higher. As weird as it seems, there's hardly anybody nostalgic for cata, but many many more are for mop. Although blizzard is just infinitely fragmenting the community lately with how many modes of wow there is. As for the diamonds, I just mean mop is unequivocally better than cata in literally every sense. So there's no sense in playing cata and not playing mop imo. You should play both, or not play both.

@@rct6518 Mists will be more popular than Cata bc Retail players will play it a lot more - many many retail players look back on it as the best expansion, myself included. I know SO many retail and recently stopped retail players will invest a lot of time into it

I play both Cata and Retail. I dont see why I shouldnt play MoP too. Both are fun in their own way. Been playing with my classic guild since 2019 classic launch and we are going through MoP at least. Its been a blast.
