@@DEADorALIVEkayaking Still good after a year ?

@@andreasspyrou7688 Hi, thanks for watching! Definitely still good after a year. In fact, I'm plotting on how to get another one, too...though I'm leaning towards upsizing the next one to the Whale Shark! Hammerhead Kayaks' customer service is top notch and super friendly, too! Thanks again, and Stay Safe!

The design of these kayaks is impressive. I probably would have bought one had i seen them 6 months ago. Hopefully the durability is on par with design. I ended up buying an old town and it doesn't have some features that hammerhead kayaks do which i think is disappointing given the price point.
@DEADorALIVEkayaking Жыл бұрын
Hi, Chad, and thanks for watching! Design features are an impressive point with the Hammerhead's. Eddie is constantly tweaking the design on little points that cumulatively add up to an all around better product...he solicits feedback from end-users, and takes their comments to the drawing table. I finally got to see one of the new Whale Sharks a couple months back (it's been tough, he stays sold out of them!)...almost identical to the Bull Shark, but with upsized and/or upgraded EVERYTHING! LOL He's also expanding his dealer network, and working on a reliable and affordable shipping arrangement. I'm a year in with mine, now, and haven't yet found any reason for buyer's remorse. Stay Safe!

@DEADorALIVEkayaking sir, thank you so much for this update! I am heavily looking into buying one of these bull sharks used, as I'm a broke senior in high school haha! If at all possible, I would greatly like to get in touch with you to pick your brain(s) about the vessel 😂. Take care everyone :)

I'm on the fence about this yak really leaning more towards a Nucanoe Unlimited or the new Slayer LTE that drops in spring, and yes both other yaks I mentioned are way more then the Hammerhead but I have heard some cons with this particular brand. Great upload 👍🏻

Hi! Obviously, I can’t speak for everyone, but I can tell you I have 2 Hammerheads…a Bull Shark and a Whale Shark. Both have been solid, reliable boats for me; no issues with the hulls or any of the drives, which I have both drives for the Bull, and all three for the Whale. Are they on par with the NuCanoe or Native? Probably not, though they are great kayaks for a whole lot less money, and if you have any problems with them, you can call Eddie at Hammerhead and he’ll bend over backwards to make it right! Thanks for watching, and Stay Safe!

Hi, and thanks for watching…glad you enjoyed it! You wouldn’t be unhappy about buying a Bull Shark! I’m way down in Central Florida for a week right now, and the Bull Shark made the trip with me. If you’re close to Mobile, drop in and talk to Eddie, sometime! He’s a great guy and would be delighted to help get you into the kayak that suits you best. Adjust the pedals so you can move the seat backwards and be able to access the floor hatch.
@DEADorALIVEkayaking8 ай бұрын
Hi, and thanks for dropping by and watching! That’s a good idea when using the fin drive, but the propeller drive is fixed with no adjustment. Adjusting the pedals on the fin drive didn’t even occur to me…most often that’s a “set it and forget it” thing…Thanks! Stay Safe!
@rickss698 ай бұрын
@@DEADorALIVEkayaking I completely forgot that Hammerhead now has that seat in a height adjustable version. That might allow the use of that center hatch.

I just got mine and I love it but there is one huge problem. The rudder gets a lot of sand and grit inside it which makes the rudder hard to steer in till you clean it out or just stops being able to turn. Any other operations?
@DEADorALIVEkayaking6 ай бұрын
Hi, and thanks for watching. I haven’t had any problem with the rudder binding on the Bull Shark. The next time I have it out, I’ll try to recreate your problem and see if a solution presents itself. Is it the rudder post that’s getting sand in it or the steering cables? Stay Safe!
@rickss69 Жыл бұрын
The pivoting /locking prop drive mount does not work with the fin drive which is disappointing. You must completely remove the fin drive for instance in a surf/beach landing which means the fin drive will be flopping around on the floor unattached . Better come up with some type of tether for the drive or risk losing it if capsized.
@DEADorALIVEkayaking Жыл бұрын
Truth! Although, I will say that it is easier and quicker to pull the fin drive than the propeller drive. As you mentioned, I need to come up with some means of tethering it...actually, tethering both drives, even though the propeller drive is well confined in the yoke and 'shouldn't' fall out (unless you have luck like mine!), and that holds true for almost all drives...from the Bull Shark to a high end Hobie. Thanks, and Stay Safe!

Which drive do you prefer, ? And which one would you buy if you had to pick one?
@DEADorALIVEkayaking2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Louis, and thanks for watching! I was really stoked about getting the rotary drive because I wanted that instant reverse to help hold position while fishing. I was truly amazed at how much more power and speed the fin drive generates, but I have to stick with the rotary drive as my preference. Stay safe!
