I just wanted to say a big thank you for all these demos and explanations which really helped me get through these 4 years with the Summit. In the synth community there are a lot of different synths and the more I play with my friends' synths, the more I find the Summit complete and amazing. These tutorials really helped me go deeper and deeper. I'm the type of person who doesn't buy 50 different synths but prefers to concentrate on just one to be sure to "master" each part and it's always a great pleasure to play with this beast. It's so versatile and complete. Endless possibilities and endless fun. So thanks CALC & co.

That's something I like about Novation too. They even write their manuals for beginners to understand, no matter how professional and sophisticated the synth.

I have the Summit since a few days only and I already love it. I was impressed by its sound when I first fiddled around with it on Superbooth years ago. The additional knobs on the surface cannot be rated high enough, other companies leave a lot of empty space (e.g. Korg with their 61-keys Wavestate/Opsix/Modwave) while Novation know how to use it.

My favorite synth in my studio along side the Hydrasynth.
@MadelnMachines4 жыл бұрын
Do you think it's worth having both? Are they different enough?
@GertBoers4 жыл бұрын
I have my Hydra alongside a Peak. Brilliant combination. Summit = Peak x 2 (and some).
@BritoWorx4 жыл бұрын
Made In Machines absolutely. Hydrasynth to me seems like a different monster. The level of tweaking that can be done is crazy and it’s super easy to modulate. This is coming from a noob. Summit is a powerhouse as well. Perfectly explained in this video. I’d say go to your local music store and give both a demo if they have em available.

Is there smooth transition of the sound when you select another preset?...or does the previous preset get cut off abruptly?
@NovationTV7 ай бұрын
That really depends on the qualities of the patches in question and how you are playing the synthesiser. For example, playing chords with a Pad style preset, laden in reverb and delay and then switching to a monophonic Bass preset without any effects applied would have a very noticeable difference.

Does it have chord memory or reverse polarity of the envelope?

Does the summit have a live panel mode where you press a button and the sound instantly reflects the position of the pots? Is it a linear FM with ratios designed to make musical sounds or more of an exponential FM for atonal sounds?
@jeremyf2554 жыл бұрын
There's an initialize button on the top left. In global settings mode you can select if pressing initialize gives you a default init patch, or if it gives you the live panel position of the pots.
