Good solution to borrow yarn from the collar. I'm looking forward to your summer knits. Thanks for creating the podcasts for us to enjoy.

Hi Francesca, a tip! If you learn to knit in the Portuguese style, purling is much easier. You just knit in the continental method and then purl in the Portuguese method :)

Hi Francesca, first of all I want to say big Thank you for making this podcast. I love the fact you are keeping it real, and how honest you are about your knitting skills and how much you spend on your projects. I especially appreciate the cost part of your podcast, and that you are knitting with yarn affordable for most of us this days. And I love how detailed you are talking about knitting your garments. So thanks a lot. Keep up the good work 🙂 Can't wait for more episodes 🙂🙂🙂

Your podcast/channel was recommended by KZbin because apparently all I watch are knitting podcasts and Italian language videos. I’m so excited that I get to travel to Italy in a month and will have to find a yarn shop at some point to purchase a souvenir.

Lovely! How are you liking the project so far? I know the designer is going to share instructions on how to add sleeves as well, so I hope to do that this fall to get a long sleeve cardigan.

Thanks Francesca, it was fun to see you and your knitting while I recover from Covid 😐. At least I have lots of extra knitting time this week! I’m knitting PK Stockholm sweater V Neck in a lovely spring lavender color, and I’ll steek it into a cardigan.

Oh, what a coincidence! Love that! There wasn’t really a group chat, right? I don’t think there was a way for us to find each other 😬 Either way, nice to have you here now. Are you thinking about adding the sleeves to the cardigan too?

@@AnItalianKnitter it’s a small knitting world! I loved how you styled the Moonlight … it made me think I may not need sleeves after all 😊

I was on the fence deciding on whether I should knit the moonlight cardigan. The complex beginning was scaring me because I don't have a lot of brain space these days. But if you can manage it I can give it a shot..haha

I love the vibe of the sweater with the crochet stripes. How did you like the process of making a crochet/knit combo? I'm terrible at crochet, so I'm not sure I could pull it off lol.

I don't tend to like cardigans, but yours is in my favorite color, and the pattern, or maybe the yarn combo, makes it look like there are delicate, horizontal, skinny stripes, which I love 💕 so I might need to change my mind! It looks great on you, too. It's kind of a shame that your yarns were blowing out in the light as you held them up to the camera... They didn't look green, more white. 🐻❄️ 🌿

Hi Francesca, maybe I'm wrong, but I think baby alpaca is also from adult animals, only from the belly, where the fleece is super-soft... That would be pretty brutal to shear new-born calves 😂

@@AnItalianKnitter Right after your Podcast I discovered Bilease, sorry I may be spelling this wrong . . .apparently a very historic fiber and textile area near Milan. My son lives in Germany and my dear husband and I are planning a Month long visit next year for our 40th Anniversary! I am already searching for yarn and yarn stores. I have switched this last year to all natural and rustic yarn. Your sweaters and knitting are all so inspirational!

Thank you! I hope it’ll be enjoyable to knit and to wear 😅 I’ve been hearing about it for so long, I now have high hopes. I love the new cardigan,was it difficult to make? Was it costly for the yarn? I love the color on you. I would rather not have long sleeves maybe 3/4 sleeves would work. I am a purl hater also, I have never admitted that out loud but so glad it's out.
@AnItalianKnitter Жыл бұрын
Thank you, Charlene! I found the cardigan construction fairly easy and the pattern is quite clear. The most challenging part was picking up stitches and remember when to make certain increases (you might need pen and paper to keep track or maybe a row counter). You could also look on Ravelry and browse the existing projects and see what others say. As for the yarn I used Drops so it came out to be pretty affordable for me (of course it depends on one’s budget). For my size (small) it was 25 euros or so. I actually don’t know anyone who truly enjoys purling 😂 I think we’re not the only ones!

I am definitely not a sleeveless cardigan girl, I would never know how to style that. Unless it was made from cotton, and then I may wear it over my swimming suit. (But I'm not really a beach girl at my age 😁😁
