An old Edison box fan gets a clean-up...

Somehow I thought I had uploaded this, but obviously I didn't, since you're only seeing it now...
This is a video I shot back in August after picking up an Edison box fan from a thrift store. Here, I clean it up a bit and test it out, while marveling at the fact that it is equipped with a Toastmaster-branded motor (something that I didn't know existed...). After I shot this video, I actually ended up using this fan to help keep my room cool until I left to head back up to Rochester for the school year to begin.

Some two-speed fans had a three-speed switch installed. But usually in that case the third, unused speed turned it off rather than being a repeat of one of the other speeds. Maybe it was originally a three-speed fan but the original motor failed and someone replaced it with a two-speed motor? That could explain why it has a Toastmaster motor in it...

I have one like this with on name the same cabinet a different switch and handle with the full size motor and 5 blades I personally think with airflow the fan sucks because it has all that power and isn't able to put it out because of the blade being too big for the cabinet

Does anyone know if that straw was factory? I get so nervous prying blades off to oil the front side. Anyone have tips on removing full size blades on the Edisons? (There are KZbin videos for this for lakewood fans)
