Its decomposition mixed with embalming fluids its happened before at various cemetery's. Theres supposed to be a drain in the structure that prevents this from happening it most likely became plugged or blocked at some point. This is why im not really for above ground burial.....

This is common, unfortunately. The body inside the coffin decomposes, gases escape and sometimes the coffin actually explodes. I personally would not inter someone, but would always cremate a loved one to avoid this distress. I find it more humane for those left behind. I will be having my body cremated.

Best practice is to place the coffin on a plastic crate. That’s how we do it at our cemetery.

@Ingrid Burling You are right. It is most hygenic and destroys disease and takes up zero space on the Earth if ashes are scattered and much less space than a casket grave site or much less space in a mausoleum if cremated. Also, very much more economical to cremate than to have a casket and stone and burial. For example, a funeral, casket, burial, stone, can be $9,000 minimum rock bottom. A cremation and urn can be $2,000.

I think the word you're also looking for is that it "liquifies".. which yaa, eww.. but it is what it is

This is why bodies belong UNDER ground. Not in fancy concrete towers 🙄

While what you say holds common-sense merit, this problem probably happens underground too. We just don't see the consequences. While most people would say, "who cares - out of sight out of mind" at that juncture, the problem itself is still happening AND SHOULDN'T BE. None of this stuff should be happening in the first place (if Egyptians could properly embalm or help mummify their dead 3500 years ago, we should be able to do the same NOW), whether in ground or above ground.

Both Mausoleums and ground burials can be dangerous. Burial underground means that the bodies can purify and leak into the water table which feeds into reservoirs used for human consumption, the leakage contains formaldehyde from embalming which is highly carcinogenic (cancer causing for anybody who doesn't know the word)

That is really sad that poor guy just lost his mama I wonder if he has enough money to remove her casket and put her somewhere else but that's a lot of money to do that and these cemetery owners need to step up and take responsibility for our loved ones peace

Sounds like he has multiple family members interred there in that mausoleum. They would each have to be removed and relocated and it would be costly. So sad. Prayers that this gets resolved soon. 🙏

BETTER TO BURY OR CREMATE. NEVER TRUSTED MAUSOLEUM BURIALS. IN A FEW GENERATIONS, PEOPLE WILL FORGET AND VISITING WILL STOP.

I worked at a cemetery and we would put the caskets on top of polymer trays before sliding it into the crypt. The tray was designed to collect any leakage and we never had issues. You have to also understand the quality of embalming is not the same as it was 100 years ago. 100 years ago it was way more potent, did a good job of delaying decomposition but at the same time it gave time for air to dry the body out and properly mummify. The 1928 mausoleum I worked in had two holes in each crypt, one was for air circulation and one was for drainage. The hole at the top had a pipe in it and that pipe actually went to a motor system in the mechanical area in the upper level of the mausoleum and it was meant to draw out any odors. I could go on and on about this process but I'll leave it be.

Why not just do it how it was done 100 years ago then? Probably expense related, but better to do a job properly than cheaply, and have to deal with THIS KINDA stuff later. Imagine the expenses and people that have to get involved with the clean-up process. It involves much more than just mopping up and putting the damaged coffin back inside.

Embalming fluid should be pink, not green. Did they also complain of an odor?

If my memory serves me here the embalming fluid will no longer be pink as it interacts with the decomp juice. Pretty ghastly thing to witness and distressing for this man visiting his deceased mum. Hope this gets resolved soon.

Green oozing liquid... is decomposed blood with embalming fluid...
@JohnnyangelNIU
@JohnnyangelNIU 8 ай бұрын
Probably not blood at this point. in Theory, no blood should be left. Combination of embalming fluid and just bodily liquids left over, including water. Long story short, multiple professionals DID NOT DO THEIR JOBS PROPERLY. This should NOT happen - period - with today's technology.

Sorry for this man having to see that but it is kinda why most people bury their loved ones. No one wants the trauma of seeing their loved ones fluid oozing on the ground when it can be done naturally in the ground.

Shouldn't be happening PERIOD, tho. Just because "we may not see it" (underground) doesn't mean that is proper, or should be happening. Toxic anything shouldn't be leaking out anywhere.

My Mom passed two years ago. I have not been back. She is in heaven. She always told me not to go back to visit. His Mom is not there. She is in heaven I hope. Talk to your Mom anywhere. I want to be cremated. My family can put my ashes wherever they want.

Okay this isn't necessarily a bio hazardous reply can someone from this group find out as to what's going on with this cemetery as it's a complete lack of respect unto all 500 deceased loved ones whether its due to business collapse regarding finance losses or for other issues its just not right. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2qYpqurmMmpf80feature=shared

I could not even imagine the cleanup process with this. Obviously multiple people and factions would have to be involved, it goes much beyond just taking a mop or a bottle of Windex and rags and cleaning up the obvious dripping "on the outside". Whoever the decedent is, their family first would probably have to be contacted. Somebody would have to go into that vault - completely take out the damaged casket, probably re-casket the remains (or just cremate at this point), probably clean up (maybe even re-clothe) the remains in some kind of ethical and humane way - I think, even based on the faith, certain priests would have to be called.. Obviously, you just can’t clean up the outside and the crypt itself but put the damaged casket back in there as is. So somebody (probably the cemetery) has to eat the cost of all of these measures. Disturbing in many ways, but I guess if you’re into science as I am, - this could be interesting in some kind of weird way. Because this is probably more common than we think. I would be squinting my eyes in disgust, but another part of me might say - okay, let's give this a shot and do the right thing. I think the decedent would be happy they were being helped, so that would give me some comfort if I was somehow part of the fixing process.

That right there is just peer, worthless, cemetery workers. It can be fixed way before it gets that bad you have to open it up put the casket in a tray designed for exactly that. For it to get that bad, it has been happening for a long time could’ve been avoided. You know it right away when it starts by the smell I couldn’t even imagine the smell coming from that place. I actually have cleaned up several of them. If people only knew what sometimes goes down working at a cemetery, what do people expect though mausoleum are basically a storage facility for the dead
