Awe wow Emily this was so emotional I'm sat here with full feeled tears as it is such a moving letter. it is kind of strange how we ostomy people get to know and love our stomas my soma I've named rose bud who has a lot of cariter but she stops me from having to worrie about where the toilet is and saves the embarrassing accidents I used to go through. thanks for up loading this video it was great.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I love my Jpouch, but there are moments when I miss the ritual of changing a wafer or being able to poop on the couch haha. I am so grateful for everything my stomas did for me.

After watching these documentary films of your experiences with colitis I feel utterly ashamed of myself. The fortitude you have shown in spite of the horror faced is inspiring and brings into focus what I must now do giving me resolve to endure surgery. Thanks ever so much for all the effort you put into making these videos and I hope you are now, or will soon be healthy and happy. Patrick UK, colitis since 2008.

Wow! Loved going through your journey i had my takedown surgery in january 2016. Life with a jpouch is great . I had UC for 21 years. i had it done in 2 surgeries. i went in thinking laproscopic but came out full blown open surgery. I agree talking about it does help make it eaiser to cope. Looking forward to hear how your takedown was. I had very positive experiences.. I too love talking abput it and sharing. best pf luck

What was your second stoma’s name? Also what is your cats name? I seen the fur baby in the background. 🐱

I didn't name my second stoma.. I'm not sure why? I didn't even knowing that naming a stoma was a thing until I heard other people talking about it too, I thought it was just me. The cat's name is Spencer.

Wow. I’ve been binge watching all your videos. You are incredible!!! So knowledgeable and mature for your age. So strong. Thank you for sharing your experience. My fiancé’s brother has a bag and I’ve always been a little curious (I’m so interested in health care, I used to want to be a doctor when I was a child) his family doesn’t really talk about it or anything so hearing your story has definitely opened my eyes to what he went through and everything. I love these videos and hope you keep sharing your story with us! Take care!! :)

❤️ didnt think I would cry watching this video. I’m going in for bowel surgery number 3 but it’s been 11 years since last. They are worried with how I can’t eat right now I may end up with a stoma to allow healing before reconnecting. I am nervous a bit, but really I wanna know how it feels not to be a slave to the bathroom. I’m going 15-20 times a day. I have been prepped for for a ostomy last surgery. Met a nurse who went over everything and what to do expect and how a lot of her patients said living with it wasn’t bad at all from what they thought it would be. The stoma doesn’t make me scared or nervous, it’s the what about the leaks, will it smell, will it be seen in cloths when I don’t want it to be seen. The lifestyle with it makes me nervous not the actually having to have one. Thank you for your video, I know I’m not alone.

This was so beautiful and powerful, I’ve just watched a couple of your videos for the first time and I’m truly inspired. To see you get on the internet and talk about your story like this is something I wish more people had the courage to do. I know you’ve surely inspired so many others out there by being such a rock for them and showing them it’s okay. I don’t know you but I appreciate you. It makes me so happy to see you creating content and standing strong. I’m so proud of you and I can’t wait to see where Life takes you in the near future. Cheers to the road to recovery and strength 💛🌻

Emily Parris I was just wondering if you’d mind sharing your playlist of your music u listened to, while going through this? Music has always gotten me through my hardest times, and I’d love to know what u listened to to help u through yours. I have severe IBS but nothing like you’ve had to go through, I hope you’re doing good 😊

What happens after you remove your stoma? How do you poop?
@EmilyParrisVideos
@EmilyParrisVideos 7 жыл бұрын
So they do a reconstructive surgery called a Jpouch where they form a fake rectum that holds stool out of your small intestine. You do have to go to the bathroom more than other people because the Jpouch can't hold as much as a colon can, & the poop is very watery because the colon pulls all the water from your poop but it's like I'm "normal" again
