🙏 I was Blessed,Many Years ago to hear an Organ Recital By Virgil Fox Playing The Reubke Sonata Here in Ft Wayne Indiana on a Aeolian-Skinner, Op. 1255-A (1956) 4 Manual Organ at The First Presbyterian Church. That performance and whole recital I will Never Forget.Anyhow,This performance comes very close to what I recall,Virgil Fox did with this Magnificat Piece of Music.Thank You Both Fore Sharing This Here today,God Bless and Protect All Involved with is Video.♥

I have three comments about this recital. 1) Richard Gowers makes these organ compositions look easy, which is a sign of true talent and mastery over the instrument. Bravo!!! 2) The camera work @ 4:40 - 5:30 is spectacular! 3) I loved the 4-way screen split @ 8:57 & 9:20. Richard M is doing an amazing job with the technical stuff here.

That, 'Richard's', was extremely good! From the humour to the playing, right to the last note! I was very surprised to hear that Richard Gowers had not played a Hauptwerk organ before, Ok I guess he hasn't needed to but hopefully will now join the troops and spread the word to encourage more young people to play the organ.

The new instrument you have created is unbelievable. I'm an electrical engineer who has built complex projects in my career and I know how much planning and effort it takes to create something special and finally tuned on all levels. Now you need to mass produce this instrument so I can order one 😁!! Your in-depth knowledge of organ construction voicing and logistics as well as your ability to play wonderfully combined to make a special instrument that we all can enjoy. Love your guest performance. I may have to get a new subwoofer though, after turning up the volume... Steve

The Reubke, just wow😍 It felt like McV almost had tears in his eyes after the very last note. Didn't actually see why a full bespoke console was needed for Hauptwerk but darn, by this recording alone, it has justified the decision. Bravo McVeigh 👌🏽

He is currently suffering sever back pain after being stuck up in the top of an Austin Great division in Concord New Hampshire, USA while tuning a mixture. I think. he was about 20 feet up at the time and unable to move. Don't know how he got out. Maybe had to get the fire department to resque him. Still waiting to get orthopaedic help at this point.

You sir (McVeigh) are becoming an electronic concert hall and impresario - and all strength to your arm! You will / do miss the buzz of a concert hall. However, the rustle of bytes as they proceed down your internet connection may reward you and your performers amply - you richly deserve it.... Now I must go and connect my PC or monitor to my HiFi - else the pedal sounds will destroy the plastic thingies on the PC monitor. All Power to you!

Having just read the Wikipedia entry on Julius Reubke, the Sonata on the 94th Psalm was written in 1856, only 12 years after Mendelssohn's Organ Sonatas were first published (I compare the two as they are considered organ repertoire staples). What an explosion of scale and drama in those few years!

@@beautyinsound Like when deciding what to wear when dressing for a formal occasion, it's a remarkable testament to our times that you, Richard McV., were able to "rummage through your wardrobe of organs" to provide your guest artist Richard Gowers with just the right two to "clothe" his music in. I'm in awe at the amazing set of accomplishments that you, Richard M., have brought about since you launched "Beauty In Sound" - such as your inspiration to take the balls which Hauptwerk and others have tossed your way, and run with them as far and as well as you have. When stopping to closely reflect on these technological marvels, in retrospect it was inevitable that you would want a keydesk truly worthy of these organ sample-sets - and tonight, the fruition of your inspired ambition and the manner in which you have been able to carry it out were on full display, giving your guest artist Richard Gowers the freedom he needed to express his considerable talent, unencumbered. Tonight's recital was a beyond-words-magnificent event in every respect! Bravo to both of you! Your upgrade to Hauptwerk VII shone through as well.
