The crossing you did at the start is at one of my favourite camping spots ever! meet all kinds of people who drive through, through the night hunting pig or just cruising around exploring! Wonderful spot and only one of plenty awesome ones along this stretch of the river!!! try every time to catch off that log and never had any luck from about 5 trips to the same spot! also seen that crossing claim many, many rigs over the years.

Great work! I'm fighting off a bit of illness today so I messed up anc accidentally watched all of your videos. They are very entertaining and well thought out. :) As for the smoke, typically black is fuel (running rich), grey/blue is oil, and white is water. It's most likely just condensation built up from when the exhaust cools. I wouldn't worry about it unless it does it all the time. Cheers!
@Alex.G9 жыл бұрын
Brandon Libby Thanks for that man! Sucks that you're unwell though! Yeah the exhaust has been doing it for a while now, easiest way to pinpoint a problem like that is when it actually breaks :p Get better soon! :)

White smoke at start up could mean that the turbo seals are leaking when cold. That's if your turbo is cooled with oil and coolant.

use the knife to shave off little flakes of the magnesium into a pile THEN try to start the fire. It'll start the first time, every time. Also white smoke is coolant. Most likely a head gasket
@jakelocker69334 жыл бұрын
Not really, white smoke is also unburn diesel

Love Dwellingup, found some nice quiet camp spots down there and it's only 65 min to the town from my place. Where did you say the bridge was in this video?
@Alex.G9 жыл бұрын
Bryn Williams The bridge WAS in Upper Murray, it's the long gully bridge which burned down in the big fires in Janurary. Very sad, it was a beautiful bridge!

Intents Offroad So the first part of the video, Tumbler Crossing? I can't find that on any maps, any help would be appreciated. Thanks mate.
@Alex.G9 жыл бұрын
Bryn Williams Tumlo Crossing is the name, pretty close to the old bridge. Got a GPS, or Google Earth? Plug this coordinate into it mate: 33° 0'39.01"S,116°15'21.91"E that's the exact location of Tumlo Crossing.
@BrynWilliamsROM9 жыл бұрын
Champion! Thanks for your help. I use wiki camps, really cool app that displays a lot of camping spots if you haven't heard of it. I'll chuck the coordinates in there.
@mimixownzall8 жыл бұрын
As far as the motor, I had that problem on my petrol engine and it was leaky valve seals. When the motor is off the oil around the valves would leak into the cylinder and burn off at the start causing the white smoke. I have no idea how the internals of a diesel work, so not sure if that applies.
@GunnerRA1557 жыл бұрын
White puffs in the exhaust?? Possible moisture in the fuel? Check the fuel filters, also look for any oil leaks around the engine block as it could be the start of a head gasket fail. Good Luck mate :)
@australiansbackyard15274 жыл бұрын
Hey guys, I've been camping around this area. But I'm struggling to find the river crossing, and the bridge in the video. Would you be kind enough to pin point the location. Would love to check them out.

Hello I am a beginner have 80 series and I saw your video and I wonder if you could give me a recommendation place to do picnic around dwellingup on the river that is easy to find and to drive thank you so much
@Alex.G4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely mate! Look up lane pool reserve. It's on Nanga road about 10 minutes out of dwellingup. You'll enter via the rangers hut where it costs about $10 to enter for the day, and they will give you a map of all the picnic areas and camping in there too 🙂

Do you guys have anything like poison ivy or poison oak there in Australia? A plant that causes an allergic reaction that leaves welts and bumps and itches like mad?
@Alex.G8 жыл бұрын
+mimixownzall Nope! we are pretty lucky in that regard! The plants here tend to favour being extremely prickly as a defense mechanism. So they bloody hurt, but no long lasting effects like poison ivy or oak has.

I`m no fisherman and find it oh so boring. Hate the mud as its a case of jacking the vehicle up, removing the wheels and using a Heavy Duty cleaner containing Sodium Hydroxide which "melts" the mud under the wheel arches and round the engine sump and gearbox etc, then hit it with the high pressure water blaster. Then the missus says that I have to clean the drive way, as its caked in red or black mud. Stay away from bog holes, as have been caught out to many times. Drowned my 4x4 in the Moore River following the convoy and took five goes with two vehicles to get me unglued from the clay . Insurance paid out for new starter motor, new carpets etc and got the vehicle back a week later.
@Alex.G9 жыл бұрын
Steinwaygrande Hmmmm this Sodium Hydroxide sounds like the way to go! I used to hit mine with the pressure cleaner on the front lawn, then just hose the mud until it disappears into the grass :D Bog holes have caught me out on both of my last trips, I try and avoid them but it's the ones there's no way around that always get me! That Moore river sure can be deceiving hey?
