Just to add e5 is a co-operative of people, like GSH. SparkyNinja etc. We all have our own lives and work. We come together via e5 as we all believe the principles and values it promotes. In a trade in a bad place, it brings fresh positivity as we use our skills and knowledge to share and enable others via our values of...influence, inspire, inform, educate and support. We are NOT a regulatory body or CPS and we do not charge a penny. We are made of sparks who have stepped up and sole traders and lads on the tools. We do not follow known models as if they worked the trade wouldn’t be like it was! Just for clarity..👍

GSH Electrical, Firstly thank you for pestering Paul to provide us with these valuable videos and give insight into his mindset. Secondly a big thank you to Paul for his time an efforts to enlighten us, and share his knowledge. This video really hit home with me especially the last 2 mins. I left School with no qualifications, not for a lack of efforts but a lack of interest in studying topics i had no connection with and not knowing where i wanted my future to start from. I managed to find an apprenticeship as a mechanical maintenance engineer although I actually wanted to be and electrical engineer, however i was scared of the math's and science and didn't want to fail or look stupid. Since then like Paul i pushed my limits and my boundaries and did exactly as Paul did, any challenges i had in my abilities i challenged and faced them head on. I have now completed my HNC in Mechanical Engineering. I then decided to step back into the classroom and complete my C&G 2365 level 2 and level 3, passed my 18th edition and my 2391 course is booked for the near future. All self funded and done in my own time outside my normal working commitments. It hasn't been easy, in fact its been very stressful on my family and work life, but it most definitely has been enjoyable...... why??? ...........because i wanted to learn it! Not for financial benefits but because its something i have wanted to achieve for the last 10 years. Keep up to great work! The force is strong in this one! Regards Dan #e5 #Perseverance

Really enjoyed that video, Paul seems a genuinely good guy I particularly enjoyed the last part where he said about going out and doing what scares you and don’t let anybody put you down I can definitely relate to that, sadly the trade seems to be littered with a lot of negative Sparky’s not wanting to pass on any quality knowledge (in my experience) it’s nice to know there are good guys out there great work👍

I think a lot of this goes back to education methods in the UK, a lot of it is learning my rhyme, I was the kid a school that annoyed teachers because I wanted to know why, if the reasons of why we do things are better understood and not just teaching the equation or whatever rule, for me that’s a better outcome because we teaching thinkers, after all regs are just guidance and were meant to be able to apply our own departures etc but how many are confident to do so and provide an explanation. Mostly departures would just be considered short cuts or bad workmanship.
