FINALLY!!! A MODERN tutorial of the UI system of Godot where there's not a bunch of whacky missing UI elements that have been deprecated and I can't follow along. YOUR tutorial is AWESOME!!!!! Thanks so much for the effort and time! If you have a paypal or Ko-Fi I'd love to buy you a coffee or somn for your troubles!

Hey, glad you like it! I'll probably have to update this when Godot 4 is further along as I imagine a lot will change~ Godot 4 looking great so far though. I haven't used Ko-Fi before, so just did a quick setup with mostly default settings ( ko-fi.com/iaknihs ), but I *think* it should work... If it doesn't, tell me so I can sort out the settings. In any case thanks for watching, and if the offer is still up, thanks for the coffee!

Thanks! This was helpful to point out some of the items that aren't obvious at first glance, like the layout drop down menu.

The label to line edit switch is exactly what I was looking for. There's also a min size override. This solved my issue of labels and other controls resizing on text when I needed symmetry and the added benefit of the background or framing that blends with the UI.

Great video! I've often run into so much trouble with the UI in Godot, this helped a lot. I was hoping you'd touch on anchors and margins though. Maybe in the future :)

Any plans to do a tutorial about themes, that would be awsome
@iaknihs3 жыл бұрын
Good idea, I could definitely do an overview over that sometime. Will have to see how long the video will get though, because there are a lot of options to themes.

How do I add an Image BEHIND my buttons? It always climbs up, and vbox and buttons don't have the Zorder property, etc.

How do you get the UI to follow the camera?
@iaknihs3 жыл бұрын
You can put your UI as a child of a CanvasLayer, that way it should always stay in a constant position on the screen. (unless you manually move the UI nodes coordinates)
