Thank you. Considering this but it’s very costly. Take care.

Looks good. A. Outlet of years ago I purchased the Manfrotto fluid head for a do all head. Works great & only cost $150 us. This looks so much smaller & lighter. Great vid.

Good 411! I bought an acratech gpss last year, it is amazing. Made in USA quality. It is a pleasure to use solid and sturdy. I thought about the pano head, and may end up with one eventually.

I've been using the same combination for a couple of years. It has all but replaced my Kirk Bh-1 ball head for landscape photography. An ideal combination, especially for panoramas.

Thanks, David. Have you tried Really Right Stuff PG-02 Pano-Gimbal? I cannot decide between Acratech Panoramic head and RRS PG-02 gimbal.

Great Overview. This combination seems to be perfect. Question when do you use the ball head version? Thanks
@davidakoubian30253 жыл бұрын
I usually set up a second camera for time-lapse with the ballhead.

Thank you. I've been considering this head. Tell me - can you adjust tension for panning without loosening your leveling base, (and losing level)?
@davidakoubian30253 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are separate adjustments. The leveling base doesn't have to be adjusted once it is level, you can pan using the panning knob on the head.

@@davidakoubian3025 Thanks - I think this head is in my future.

Can this do portrait mode? I am looking to replace a floppy ball head and this seems to be a good fit, but I often take shots in portrait mode. In other words, what won't this ball head do?
@davidakoubian30252 жыл бұрын
It can. You can do it one of two ways. Either using an L Bracket on your camera or rotating the top plate on the Pano head.
@frpahe1 Жыл бұрын
If I understand this correctly, this Arcatech system allows you to rotate around the axis of the camera, but not around the nodal point of the lens? Do you attach a nodal plate or do you find that you did not need this?
@davidakoubian3025 Жыл бұрын
I don't worry about the nodal point but instead the center of the lens if needed. Panos aren't my main objective though

Interesting video, David. Assuming you had an L-bracket on your camera, when would you choose your GXP over this head with a leveling base?
@davidakoubian30253 жыл бұрын
I do use L brackets. I tend to use the GXP when macro images are going to be a big part of my shoot.

i use my acratech pano head on both my monopod and tripod. Also I’m very lucky the factory is just two miles from me.

Does Acratech Panoramic have any droop or excessive tiny movement issues like most ballheads do?
@davidakoubian30253 жыл бұрын
It does not

What makes this so good for the over priced head i can't see it.
