An overview of oxygen in neonatology

hello doctor thanks for the video it was useful, our baby is currently in NICU diagnosed for MAS, there was infection but after administering antibiotics it got cured. Its been more than a week now the oxygen support has been reduced from 3 litres to 0.25 but whenever they tried to remove the oxygen support the baby is unable to maintain for more then 4 hours. Now they have put him under oxygen support. Doctors say its a wait and watch situation and there is nothing serious. We as parents are so concerned doctor. Please give us some suggestions. Thanks

Thanks sir. One thing was new for me that we should keep o2 saturation 90 to 94% in children. If a child is 96% with 02, is it hyperoxia or should we decrease the 02 amount?

In older kids, you can be more relaxed but in newborn, especially preterm, the above range is better

Hi, is it two different admission episodes? At birth for the breathing and after 4 days for this? It’s not a definite seizure on video but I can’t comment without knowing the full picture. You could consider a pediatric neurology opinion

@@SridharKs yes sir two admission only ,after birth one day he was in one hospital and second day he shifted to another hospital,I shared reports of second hospital only
