An Turas Mor part 3 (Corrieyairack pass to Fort Augustus)

Corrieyairack pass to Fort Augustus.
We set off from the Bothy in good spirits despite the weather being a bit gloomy. However, the day quickly became the lowest point of the trip when my rear hub failed halfway up the Corrieyairack pass. We also had torrential rain, wind and it got very cold. I wasn’t able to cycle my bike at all and had to push all the way to the top of the pass.
It was also a Sunday which made getting a new wheel difficult. Anyway, I managed to freewheel most of the way to Fort Augustus with a helping hand from Matt.
No suitable wheel in Fort Augustus but located one in Fort William to pick up the next morning.
So, we booked into the Caledonian hotel and had our first shower in nearly a week. Also got our laundry done and had a whisky or two......
Although we hadn’t planned to stop for the night it turned out to be a welcome break.
I’m trying to keep the videos a bit shorter, its just so easy to put lots of content in.

Matt is on a short travel(120mm) full suss 29er. Mine is 130/140mm full suss 27.5. I'm building a short travel 29er at the moment for this years trips. :-)

@@david-pascoe Lol. Great video. Mechanical problems sucks, glad you managed to keep going. I did the pass from Fort Augustus and it was an endless climb, well done.
