An Unconventional, But Profitable Way To Level 110-120 [Herbing] WoW BfA

A couple errors: As someone pointed out, I guess the Horde can only queue for the Waycrest Manor at 120(since it's a starter dungeon for Alliance). This doesn't affect xp at all, but you will take a hit in gold earned(unless you manually form a group for it). Also, if you unlock world quests on your main, you don't need the rep on your alts! Just go to your war campaign npc to unlock them as soon as you hit 120.

Yeah go for it! I'm cycling 6 right now whenever they get some saved up. Another tip is if you're a panda you generate rested xp crazy fast - something I didn't know until I started leveling this way.

btw for all ppl who want to level an alt in the future: if you are still 110 just do 2 legion invasions. each invasion gives about half a level at 110 and it only takes 10ish minutes to do an invasion so you might aswell get a headstart. after 111 legion invasions give significantly reduced exp

I believe world quests are avaliable on alts if you have friendly+ rep on the main character -just come to the ship in your main city and get the quest. Didn't have Zandalari friendly on my alt and it worked.

I have used this method along with mining and leveling is super fast. This with the stirrups mean that when are running around near the coast using a water strider makes it faster again. Anyway great video, and keep up the good work.

When Cata first launched and I realized that Archaeology digs and solves earned you XP, I stopped questing and immediately flew around doing Archaeology on my main (back when it didn't suck so bad)! There was some gold in it in those days, plus a few really rare pets & mounts. It took longer than questing, for sure, but I also had a lot of reading to do for school & work so I just read while I was riding the Flight Points - of which many more were added for Cata - so it was more efficient for me personally. The real bonus though, was that when I finally did go back and do all the quests at max level, I got the full XP to gold conversion. And there were a LOT of quests in Cata, and they were pretty densely packed and easy to follow. Sometimes doing the same quests for the 4th time in a row gets dull, so knowing there are alternative styles that will still get you there are a nice touch. Even though material prices have dipped strongly since this video went out, there is profit to be made. Even if you just want to finance your Sky Golem it's an easy, low maintenance way to recoup the cost.

I leveled 1 toon to 120 and another to 115 by herb/ore-ing but I still learned a lot from this excellent video. If your goal is fastest leveling (not max herbs per hour) do both herbs and ore: more nodes = more XP.

If you are worried about world quest rep you can do one of two things. First off you can do the starter quest in each zone to try to get to friendly rep while you still have gear from legion and legendaries if you had good gear. once you hit friendly leave the zone and go to the next. If you do not have decent gear then level to 120 through herbs, buy or craft some gear, and double back to knock out ques to friendly. If this is not your main (which this leveling style is not really for mains) then you really dont need to worry about zone reps unless you need a recipe. Also, if you have decent gear you can do your war campaign to get from 119 to 120 in about an hour and a half (30 min per opponents zone).

A good thing to add, while going around for herbs, take a break and do the bonus area quests or some rare/group q they are usually the ones nailed on a side, they give quite a good chunk of xp, when rested and maybe warmode/xp buff as we have now with brewfest.

One thing I never see mentioned in this type of videos is that you can do Legion invasions until level 111. This is great if you have flying in Legion.

A final tip is to use the azerite trait that gives you a shield that absorbs X amount of damage. It allows you to mine/herb without getting interrupted if you manage to pull aggro close to a vein/herb.

I'm pretty split on this. I saw a other guide where the guy leveled purely doing island expeditions and said it was more profitable. His reasoning was the battle pets that drop and through some liberal estimates said he got $1 million. I have been leveling an alt doing quests near heavy skinning areas and expeditions and have found the gold per hour roughly even, but a little more in favor of expeditions.

Among my 110s, I chose to run my nelf druid first because she is a dual gather, mining and herbalism. I have all profs on my other toons and they would need a lot of mats. Her race and spec have many mob avoidance abilities so gear level was not crucial. I kept up with all of the foothold unlocks as she leveled. I chose Vol'dun first to access Akunda's Bite. My priority was raising her skill ranks rather then leveling. There were three major problems I did not anticipate. Upon reaching 120 she could not get the flight master's whistle. She had done almost no zone questing to gain the faction friendly rep. Second, she needed an assist to complete Rank 3 Akunda's Bite because the mob were too tough for her. And third, I did not realize two important Drustvar flight masters require zone quests to unlock. At 120, she quested each zone until friendly and focused on 7th legion rep to gain the 6 extra FM in Zandalar. My nelf was 120 long before she finished farming enough mats to train all my profs.

I just levelled my priest from 110-120 by only Island Expeditions. Each take 5-6 mins max if people only gather Azrite and avoid combat/ finish side quests. You get %10-12 depends on how much mob you killed. You make tons of money out of it since they buffed drop chances on Islands. I made around 250k and levelled to 120 in 2 days.

Went from 110-120 on my prot warrior via only Herbalism and Mining, Combined with Monel-hardened Stirrup, the herbing glove enchant and the fact tank specs cannot be dazed, I was able to go from node to node and made a good amount of cash, Anchor Weed is just silly money, though it is tedious. As an added bonus my main is a blacksmith so i just made my own starting gear once i hit 120, Good stuff.

an addon that might be handy for this would be farm hud. it takes your mini map and turns it into a hud around your toon.

Champions of Azeroth rep. will be account or server wide soon (maybe 8.1), so if you can hold out leveling until then you don't need to bother with that stuff, you just need revered on 1 toon. as for herbing, if you are a druid, you don't need the sky golem mount, just be in guardian spec and use travel form while running around. make sure to have herbing enchant.

This works in general with different stuff. For example i am using this while skilling up archaeology with an alt that is alchemist so i can get the recipe for the vial of the sands. Archaeology leveling is way slower than gathering ones because dig sires are not counted as enemies like the others do, so it does not benefit heirloom gear and so on. Also it can be done almost anywhere, like legion or pandaria.

For the Addons part, i would suggest to use the addon FarmHud. It stretches the minimap over your screen but removes the background and the border of it. If you don't understand what i mean: wow.curseforge.com/projects/farmhud I find it more usefull since i don't need to keep looking at the minimap.

it is true gathering gives a significant boost to lvlg. my friend i was questing with hit 120 when i was barely 118, i literally couldn't keep up. i've been lvlg my monk now, and he is getting quite a bit of xp too. he's also a scribe so im lvlg that as well.

You can level by doing quests in one day also. Bonus tip: Doing quests helps you along your path of unlocking the last 2 dungeons and progress through the story if thats your thing.

Only problem I see leveling by herbing is your heart of azeroth, not important in the beginning but later on you'll require high level for the azerite traits. If only you could get azerite splinters while herbing

While leveling, I see the changes to the class mechanics and learn to play them, because I only had 2 max level chars in the last expansion. That's sort of how I leveled mine as well. I started out with the quests, and immediately got sidetracked down a river and realized how good the xp is. I actually prefer it to questing quite a bit not even taking the gold into account!

Yes, but you won't have access to World Quests at 120. That makes it a bad way to do it. Also, i recommend picking up Leatherworking as a 2nd profession, and use the barding to never get dazed for 8 HOURS!!. Makes picking flowers a LOT better.

Or be a druid. You have Sky Golem/Monel-Hardened stirrups AND tank spec/Coarse Leather Barding AND the Underlight Angler perk + instant mounting (after combat, or mining if you're doing that alongside herbing). ...you can also play all four roles (tank/heal/ranged DPS/melee DPS), are a discount mage with an additional portal hub, a discount rogue with prowl, and get to be a badass raven/stag/bear/kitty/bear/thiccowl/dolphin. You can also rest easy in the knowledge that you're a man of culture playing the one true master -race- class. You still need to get the Underlight Angler tho, because of course you do. Just look at it.
