Actually, Sam, that key HAS shown up on camera. It was in the "Found Key Lead Us To An Abandoned Car At Hi5 Studios". It was in that segment where everyone was in your office, on the floor sorting through all the keys. I've been rewatching the series. And Connor even pointed out that there was an American Flag key in the video "We Found A Safe In The Wall".

When John Doe asked, "Are you in your studio?", it was probably to know how much information he could give and to understand whether to keep his guard up or not. However, the fact that Matt then said, "Why? Are you going to bomb it?"(although he was kind of joking), really threw me off, since Doe proceeded to tell Matt to unplug the LAPD case, which seems to have activated a timer that seems to be a bomb. That was a little too coincidental to me.

Looking back on the video of when you found the red safe in the wall, at about 32:06 Connor holds up an American flag key and says "Look this one has an American flag on it." and it has the same yellow circle as the 843 key you brought up on this video. They had a car (legally in Matt's name) stolen, illegal entry and trespassing, illegal monitoring of communications, illegal use of a phone carrier service for illegal monitoring and an unknown black box with wires coming out installed into their workplace but by Matt's logic they can't call 911 because that's for "emergencies" only, just the stolen car and black box would be enough to be deemed a credible 911 call, please I really hope people don't think this is ok to take things like handling wired boxes into their own hands, there are specially trained teams for this if you see a suspicious package or container/case of any sort report it don't mess with it, I work in emergency services and this spreads a bad message, when the unabomber was sending parcels out many people were injured and worst killed because they opened very innocent looking parcels. If you see something suspicious yes 100% you can call 911 you won't get in trouble, you may have a grumpy officer at the end of a long shift but nothing bad will happen. Also all modrrn businesses with three or more employees have contingency plans for emergencies and these include fire escape drill, bomb drill, active shooter drills and suspicious package drills and many more in order to keep workplaces safe many insurers require you to have this.

I really hoped that they did disconnect the case while they were the JD have 'time' to, since they could provide some instructions of what to do or possibly just reassuring Matt and everyone that it isn't a bomb or even just giving Matt more information I do not wish to know more unless their safety is guaranteed even if these videos are being shared with us IF they have someone who used to think about these kinds of cases for a living then they would be getting immense help and would not need to wait for our theories to find some more information on their own whoa. When I was watching this with my mom, she kept saying it sounds like he's trying to get information, not the other way around. She's got a point. Fishy indeed, especially considering he was being inconsistent. Obviously lying about something if he's being inconsistent with his story. Saying he's followed the vids and then to ask stupid questions (things that are already public knowledge) doesn't sound like he's a good investigator or liar. Also, I wonder if he knew about the bomb. Mom pointed out it just sounds like he wants to know where they're at with this.

Theory: With the saying that syphus is the last one left, that your whole studio area once was one whole thing, and that there used to be labs, makes me think that this whole thing was an illegal operation with chemicals or something. Potentially the labs produced substanced such as the ones you found with the injection gun, then had workerd hide them in cars(choice of car: mercury mountaineer, therefore hawk guy mentioned there were multiple). With the goods potentially hidden in the seats they then drove the cars to a customer or maybe another worker and handed over the car and therefore the goods aswell. Maybe the whole organisation was being tracked by investigators maybe LAPD or FBI whatever, idk what you have over in america. Syphus might be the last one connected to this operation("he's the last one left") and is trying to save the operation or something, or trying to hide/destroy evidence from investigation. Now this is something that doest really fit in but im sure there are some corrupted LAPD people involved("LAPD will shut down anyone with evidence") and they are helping syphus or whatever idk, i just wanna say be careful with the police, depending on who you contact they may be corrupted and it might end not too well. Just be careful guys, also this is better than any netflix show.

I think this is close to being complete, but there are a few things that are being left out. Syphus has had the Mercury Mountaineer at some point, both before and after Matt owned it. Before, Syphus used it for surveillance and as a hiding place, as is clear from blueprints of the studio, binoculars, and car manual being used as a “map” for where hidden items are like that fingerprint journal. After being stolen, the car acted as a cache of evidence that Syphus took as a priority over the LAPD case. This means that whatever was torn out of the car seats (or was being looked for, unconfirmed as to whether the evidence that John Doe was referring to was already taken by Syphus) had a higher priority (while unplanned) than the LAPD case. However, the fact that Syphus planned to come to the studio to take the case back from fear of someone busting it open means that nobody was supposed to find it or that it was supposed to be temporary. That case is a security risk to Syphus, for whatever reason, but not nearly as much as whatever is (or was) in the car. TL;DR: (not really) John Doe has just informed you that the LAPD was involved in shutting down Project Pegasus, of which Syphus was a part of. Syphus, along with those working on the project, are considered government employees. This can be proven through the government sticker on the car, the contents of the Manila folder found in the car, and the fact that LAPD is keeping this under wraps. Project Pegasus was a covert government operation for something related to that corrosive liquid and much, much more. If the others from Project Pegasus have done something similar to what Syphus is doing by hiding everything related to the project (including a blank journal which seems to only be connected through the Celtic Knot embroidered on it). In other words, by finding everything you have so far, Syphus is the last loose knot left. Only time will tell how far the government will go to keep Project Pegasus quiet, or if you will unravel everything.
