This game makes for an amazing experience if you want to roleplay the undercover journalist part. I kept a "field diary" as I was playing along, taking notes about the characters, weapons, recipes and such every time I put my character to sleep. Can't recommend enough doing that, it puts the "uncovering the zone" on a whole new level

I'm actually the one that brought up the fact that according to his lore no-one in the zone would severely underpay for a good quality gun. Props to the dev for listening and having random npcs pay well for guns based on quality.

Yup! I learned the hard way on a lot of games. I stopped when I bought BG3 though. I owned BG3 years before full release to support Larian, but I fought the urge to play it until the full game was released because I didn't want to ruin it.

Electrical Engineer here. While Ohm's Law is R=V/i (Resistance = Voltage/current); it's easier to think of in terms of V=iR (mostly because it now resembles Newton's force equation; F=mA and much of what was learned in physics I can now be applied in physics II). However, if you know two of the values and need to know the third the equation can be solved for what ever you're trying to find. (Technically the V is voltage drop over a circuit component and probably wouldn't apply the way it is being used in the game. The game should really be using wattage, but that becomes a lot more complicated for the average player, because power (watts) is W=iV so to get that in terms of resistance we would need to solve Ohm's Law for either current (i) or voltage (V) and insert it into the equation. For example; if we know the wattage the radio tower needed to be at and we knew the voltage, but we needed the resistance we would solve Ohm's for current; i=V/R. We can then insert that into the power formula for W=(V^2)/R. Solve that for R; R=(V^2)/W, and solve to know what value of resistance we need. Again, that is a lot for the average game player to do.) It is also helpful to know how resistance works when resisters are in series versus parallel. When resistors are in series you just need to add the resistance up; however, when they are in parallel you need to use the following formula: (1/Rtotal = 1/R1+1/R2+1/R3+...+1/RFinal)^-1. Raising the entire formula to -1 ensures you are not left with a value to 1/Rtotal.

Tunguska the Visitation and Stellar Tactics are two great examples of sandbox games and they both seem to be solo-developer indie titles. Stellar Tactics is weak on narrative content, but it's got enough to give you a good idea of where it's going. Tunguska's Ravenwood DLC is great, new crafting and cooking, and you get to experience life as the Zone's only Uber Eats driver 😂 .

Once upon a time, somebody made a stand-alone mod for Stalker that combined the levels from all tge Stalker games. I think it was called "Call of Chernobyl" or something. Then Anomaly was made as a mod for that. Then Gamma came, as a further stand-alone mod with all the bells and whistles, and may have gone a bit too much into the military sim genre, losing some of the original Stalker vibe.

Not gonna fall for this one. Takes like 8 hrs max to beat the main game. I bet if Splat streams it he can finish it in a single stream, if he uses the same character he made the video with. According to steam forums there are a lot of bugs and duping things going on in the game, as well as items disappearing at times. I saw several posts where the dev is telling people how to use debug to fix this mess. There are multiple DLC's which cost like 6$ extra so you'll end up paying 50$ for a 12 hr game with bugs (bet the dev doesn't know how to spell experience vs it being an actual typo since it was incorrect multiple times). Maybe if or when its on a very steep discount. STALKER GAMMA and EFP are about just as buggy but they are much more sandbox-like type games and are free. STALKER 2 is supposed to hit in September.

Those bug had been fixed a long time ago. Most people finish the base game in 20-30 hours. 8 hour is if you already know what you are doing and speed run through the main quest, ignoring all side quests. If you also play Ravenwood, the whole game takes about 50 hours if you don't try to grind. Those who grind the game usually clock 100-200 hours.

Wasn't that the largest meteorite that landed on Russia it's a miracle it didn't land on civilization itself if it did with a wiped out civilization it landed in the middle of nowhere and snow that may have cushioned the blow.

I think estimates put the object at only a couple hundred feet wide, but the blast was in the tens of megatons range. It's assumed it was a rocky ice ball; if it were a similarly sized iron core meteorite it would have landed and made quite the impression.
