I want to thank you for opening up my granddaughter's and my minds to the art of resin craft. We have been looking for a craft we can do together and came across your channel. We get together and watch a few videos at a time then spend time in the shop crafting.

They came out really beautifully. From the tiny thumbnail, the pinkish one actually looked like it had bacon or ham in it ! lol! :)

Very nice! I’ve been doing something pretty cool stuff incorporating heavy gel gloss medium mixed with acrylic paint into my resin pieces. A lot of “happy little accidents” as Bob Ross would say.

Hey, I'm first to comment! I love the effects you got with those colours, and I'm a very messy crafter too, it's more fun that way lol! I liked the wrinkles you put in the cotton under the resin, it gave them character. Thanks for the links in the description Steve. God bless you and your family. Have a great week!

They do look pretty cool! I think, as you have discovered, that less-is-more with the powdered pigments. Dumping them out directly from the bottle will arguably give you too much. Perhaps dump them onto a small spoon and shake it over the wet surface? Just thinking out loud. :-)

They are lovely Steve, with the issue of keeping your colours in the fabric it might be good to invest in a fixative, I know Pentart do a pigment fix which will make any water soluble colour permanent when dry. I don’t know if mixing your pixie burst with that first would help.

I love these and the chameleon powder gave it such a nice look. You may want to try washing the fabrics in just vineger and water after coloring them. The vineger makes them color fast. When I worked in a doctor's office as a receptionist we did this with our new scrubs to keep them from fading. Just pop them in the washer with nothing but a bit of vinegar (you don't need much) and then air or machine dry.

I think the Pixie Burst might give a cool texture if you squeeze it directly into a silicone mold, if you haven't tried already. I feel like it would make kinda a splatter type effect

You might take a look at setacolor paints. Those are uv cured and you can do amazing things with fabric. Raw silk might be nice to use. Dharma fabrics has some great fibers.

At almost $9.00 USD for 1.26 oz., I'm not going to be using Pixie Burst on anything. For me, there are too many other affordable options out there. However, Steve, it's your willingness to experiment and share the results of your efforts that gives the rest of us so many viable options for our own endeavors. Thanks a bunch!

HI Steve,,❤ the coasters look really beautiful😮 ,,and bubbles can be your best friend or your enemy!!! In a resin project, where you have little fish a few bubbles look great and natural looking,, as its clear againt the blue colored resin water, so making a few bubbles not to many in the blue resin would look realy nice,, I've seen someone doing this with a coaster with a type of silk, and it looked beautiful,, have you used the chameleon flakes by lets resin?? they are very vibrant colors,, and look great againt a black background. Take care Have a nice week

Thanks for the great video I am learning lots from you but I have a loooong way to go. I couldn't find any links to the thing you called a 'sponge brush' when you were adding the chameleon powder to the exposed bits. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated :)

Steve that degasser you have is almost $300 in Canada...I built one that has twice the pressure plus for under $30... Yours only goes to 95kpa or 10lbs per square inch I can easily double that for a quarter of the cost...

Gorgeous! I love the chameleon powders too, haven't invested in any yet, but the effects are always gorgeous. What I HAVE had a go with is the Chameleon flakes, however, I find they make my UV resin bubble up in a strange reaction, has anyone else found this? Any tips on how to avoid it? Also, Steve, have you ever considered setting up a discord server for your non-facebook followers? (or as an additional platform to grow a community :D) Love the coasters, they came out looking absolutely smashing!

just tried to get ahold of Jdiction about getting some resin and was basically given the brush off and told that I cannot get the same pack as you have in your videos....and they were very abrupt about it....sorry but, with that kind of attitude I cant see wasting my time getting that resin.....so what other resin do you recommend?

Steve, I noticed that you don't "suit up" like you used to when you work with resin. Has your allergy to resin disappeared? Or maybe medication? I have a slight allergy, too, so I'm curious.
