Hi! I was wondering how this places compares to other Omakase you may have tried in Tokyo? I'll be there next week and I'm having difficulty deciding on where to make reservations due to all the choices! Your video is very convincing!
@WalkwithFa Жыл бұрын
Hi 😊 thank you for your comment. I can tell you a little bit more about this restaurant so you have a better picture of it and see if it fits what you’re looking for. For me, this place has the most friendliness, authentic, unpretentious, uncommercialised vibe. Since it’s a very small restaurant, the chef is very attentive to you. He’s very humble and friendly, you can ask him questions about the food and he’ll happily try to explain it. As for their food, they are specialised in cured fish, which makes their Shime Saba (cured mackerel) the best I’ve ever had! I also think the Chef had the best grilled dishes (course 1 grilled tachiuo/course 8 grilled unagi was just amazing!). Sushi wise, I love how his style is very simple while focusing more on bringing out the best of the ingredients itself. There’s so fancy decorations in his food, no fuss, just real flavours! I think that’s the charm of this place. Also the price of 22,000 yen I find it to be very reasonable compared to the quality of the food/the experience that we got from this meal. It’s also tourist/children friendly unlike many other Omakase spots on Japan. Hope this helps and enjoy your time in Japan!

Thank you for the comprehensive response! One last question- I’ll be dining alone here. Pocket concierge doesn’t allow for a reservation for one? It’s only allowing at least two or more. Thoughts?

I contacted Pocket Concierge (for those that don’t know it’s the website for reservations for many Japanese restaurants) and I was told if you are only a party of one you cannot make a reservation here, unfortunately.😢
@WalkwithFa Жыл бұрын
I’m so sorry to hear that 😢 I was looking on Pocket Concierge for you and found that most restaurants only accept a party of 2 or more. That’s really too bad. I hope they try to resolve this! Although it’s not a lot but I saw a few places that would accept a party of one too though. Hope you can find a good omakase spot for your trip soon! 🤗

I’m going here in July and can’t wait to do the experience and mention you! But I do would like to know if they accept tip there? I know it’s considered as rude in Japan when you give them tip but I just wanted to make sure so I won’t feel embarrassed.
@WalkwithFa5 ай бұрын
I’m so happy that you are going to try out this place! It’s amazing 😊 I really do hope you enjoy your experience as much as I did 🥰 I usually don’t give any tips in Japan. I think there are some cases that you can tip, but I’d try to avoid it. I think just let the Chef know how much you love the food, they really appreciate that 😊 thank you so much for watching!

@WalkwithFa Жыл бұрын
I know this place called Sushi Tokyo Ten. Great atmosphere, delicious sushi and it’s pretty popular amongst the locals too. First time I went I walked-in to the Shibuya branch, it was pretty busy for lunch so reservation in recommended! Lunch is around ¥5000 and dinner ¥8000. Hope this helps and thank you for watching! 😊

Reservation is recommended as it is a small restaurant with only 8 seats. It’s popular amongst the locals in Yotsuya area too 😊 you can easily book through pocket concierge website, link is in the video description 💕

Hello! I was wondering how does payment work for reservations with Pocket Concierge. It’s written that PC charges my card the full amount once my meal is complete - so does that mean no payment is made at the restaurant? Is there a risk that I will be charged twice? Would love to hear how it worked out for you! Thank you
@WalkwithFa Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! That’s a great question. You are correct no payment was made at the restaurant. For me, the full amount was charged to my credit card on the day my booking request was confirmed (came up on my online credit card bill when I checked). You can still make changes/cancellation for a full refund but has to be 4 business days before the date of reservation. On the day I completed my meal that’s when the transaction fully went through. 2-3 days after our meal another charge was made to my credit for some beer my dad had at the restaurant 😆 All of the amount charged was correct, nothing was charged twice, I think they had a really good system in place 😊👍🏻 highly recommend the website, made everything so easy! And thank you for watching! 🥰💕

Way too expensive for the Omakase
@WalkwithFa Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment 😊 I think this restaurant is in the mid-range. Higher range Omakase restaurants (on pocket concierge) would be around 30,000 yen and above. For a 21-course meal with premium ingredients like this one I think the price is very justifiable. If you are interested in the different prices please check pocket concierge link in the description 🥰🙏🏻
