Dear concerned and loving family members, when you have a kid who’s been through a traumatic experience or an abnormal experience, like being born and raised in jail and the system, you can’t just drop them into normalcy, you have to transition. If you can’t understand that you have no business taking custody of the child.

As an adopted child this hurts my heart. People don’t know or care how traumatic adoption is. Of course he has problems! Look at his life. She should have NEVER taken him in if she wasn’t prepared for it. People would never throw away their biological children like this yet it happens so much to us adopted and foster kids and we’re told to shut up and be grateful we were taken in. I feel so bad for him.
@BeccasaurousRex270

That’s not true. Plenty of parents throw away their biological kids. I see it every week on the news of parents abandoning their kids, parents trying to trade their kid for drugs, parents killing their kids (that’s every other day) and especially in the summer parents leaving their kids to die in hot cars. The Aunt is full of crap. She fostered him, at the age of four, because she wanted the 💰. She didn't want him. I don't believe, she doesn't know why (his mother) went to prison for years. The Aunt is extremely mean-spirited and disrespectful. That's why she raised a disrespectful child. He gets his bad behavior from her. She fostered him again at twelve ( 2 years) later, because she wanted some 💰 again. She isn't getting 💰 anymore. That's why, she put him out.

This wasn't foster care. He was already out of the system both times. If he was, they would have provided the necessary counseling that he obviously needs, helped with transitioning to adulthood, and provided therapeutic support to the aunt. It's an awful situation. Sooooooooo I hear both sides. If yall have not dealt with a raging child you really have no idea what it's like. It can be downright terrifying- especially when youre not the direct parent, and the child KNOWS that you cant really discipline them the way a parent would. Plus, her bring a woman trying to raise a boy... boys can overpower a woman QUICK. If he really was raging like that, often times there isn't much recourse EXCEPT to place the child back in the system. That being said, if she got him back, she was trying. There are a LOOOOOOOT of people in here coming from the perspective of either lack of knowledge or experience. On the flip side..... that young man is HURTING and telling him to essentially "stop crying, be an adult" is NOT the way to go. He literally doesn't know how to. Holding his stuff for $100??? Lady, get a life and let it go. Whatever you got from the system more than paid for those glasses. Sometimes it's best to just go separate ways and find a new family. But if she only took him in for the money she wouldn’t have taken him in at 17 and 18, or as an adult. It’s crazy how people only saw his side but sometimes kids act up because they want their parent back, so they purposely give you a hard time because they don’t want to be there with you. Yess! As someone who has worked as a CPS social worker, I know how challenging it can be for some caretakers to work with children struggling emotionally and behaviorally. It’s easy to look from the outside and judge but until you have experienced that, you wouldn’t understand. Turning him back over to foster care was likely painful for her too.

Did you hear the words she texted her? She has hatred for him. Even from the beginning stressing that she spent money to get him out of the system is a clue that she never really wanted him. Judging by her own nasty behavior she didn't raise him well at all and didn't provide any of the emotional support he needed or got him the help he needed. She was just plain old callous.

@@thoughtsfromDavid I don't understand what you mean by saying she spent $6,000 to get him out of the foster care system, therefore, that's a clue she never wanted him. She said she spent her own money to get him out of foster care. To me, that means she cared enough about him to spend quite a bit of money to get him. I also understand her not being able to deal with his bad behavior and ultimately returning him to foster care. I'd rather see a person give up custody of a child rather than physically or verbally abuse them.

Generational trauma. I obviously don't know these people or their family, but it's safe to assume most, if not all of them are screwed up in one way or another because of passed down trauma. I'm going to give the aunt the benefit of the doubt that her intentions at first were pure, but she ended up biting off more than she could chew. Putting him back in the system inevitably caused that young man a plethora of issues. I'm just going to assume the aunt was never given the tools on how to raise a well-adjusted person, never mind one who was born into the unfortunate circumstances he was. I was in the system for years, more homes than I could count on both hands and feet. Some tolerable, most devastating, few good. As an adult, I had to seek help with all the wounds and much needed healing I desperately needed and deserved. The aunt should have sought help for him when she got custody of him. But again, I'm going to assume she just didn't have the guidance, knowledge, or even the desire to understand the amount of effort it would take to help this young man become well-adjusted. I pray for healing, forgiveness, growth, and change for him and his family. Especially to stop the vicious cycle from continuing for the next generation born into this dysfunction and others alike.
