The fact that back in the day, window washers stood on the edge and held onto the window frame in order to wash the windows is absolutely insane. Thank god for technology

@@tysonturquoise6940 I'm from Pittsburgh Pa and I started out in highrise 20+ years ago as a roof man. I used to push people on the rolling beam. Then I did ladder work then chair work. And now I'm back on ladders everyday doing residential. I love it and I won't do anything else until retirement. Stay safe out there.

@@justinkelly7445 yup same here i started out as a labor hand carrying all the heavy equipment to the roof top because the elevators go only so far. And then pushing the washers on a dolly beam system that you walk not push because it wont go straight even though it does have wheels. To hanging off the side of one one day and never looking back and now i do residential work myself stay safe as well and enough work for your retirement...

What he said about restaurant windows, my wife's grandfather said about their restrooms and he owned a restaurant. He said however clean the restrooms are is a sign of what goes on in the kitchen.

I would have enjoyed this job. I've worked painting high voltage towers, while energised, smoke stacks, microwave towers, etc... So window washing would have been a breeze, at least cleaner.

Journeyman widow cleaners in my state start at like 28.50 a hour. But some companies also do commission and some guys doing talk buildings can make around 100k but that’s rare unless you own your own company or sub contract.

I would have thought that there would be 4 individual ropes on each corner, with 4 different machine operating. So that way unless all 4 separate machines gave out at the same exact time, jobs like this would be 100% safer than something like a taxi driver.

This, & fishing in the deep sea are VERY dangerous jobs but they pay well. Crab fishing I learned on a cable TV show years ago, start pay $80-85K/yr. But I remember an employee died during filming in a storm. Couldn’t pay me enough to do those type of jobs. Bridge Maintenance either. Never!
