I’m very much looking forward to seeing your tiki wardrobe - I feel I will learn something! I also applaud your courage in talking about something that affects all women. The menopause changes our bodies and it is enough for us to come to terms with all these changes without people making negative judgemental comments. It’s amazing what some people feel entitled to do behind their keyboards! I once had a comment that made me cry and I think its author would have felt triumphant had she known! She probably went on to ruin someone else’s day. Well done you for calling out these people and taking away their power to get to us 👏👏👏❤❤❤

Thank you for your PSA! It was very much appreciated! I only recently have gotten up the courage to sew and wear shorts on this middle-aged body of mine. I had previously been too self-conscious although periodically I do still have to give myself pep talks reminding myself that I'm wearing them for me, and not for anyone else. It's been slow going, but I'm making progress! 😊 I understand all too well the hormone and body changes that occur as we age. 🤪

I haven't worn shorts since my early 30s. And believe it or not, I am actually going to be making a pair of shorts for myself. I'm trying to make pants, and I feel like making shorts will help get the fit down for me. But it's terrifying at the thought of me wearing shorts outside of my home. But I'm going to do it! 💖

@killerkitschvintagelizzie That's what I did! It was my first time sewing "pants" for myself, so I started with shorts! And I'm glad too because I ended up making sooooo many toile. The fit still isn't "perfect " but it's good enough for me. I've since made shorts, capris, and short culottes. I want to make the Charm pattern Rosie jumpsuit in the short sleeve/ short version at some point too. I'm trying to work my way up to it. 😊🤞

There is a beautiful power in creating garments for your own body! Everyone is shaped differently. It's why I make mine as well. I would get incredibly depressed shopping in retail stores. Now I customize my clothing! I'm glad you are too! xx
