BTW, due to Covid-19, in France, all visas were extended by 6 months, including extension of visa (like yours) so you were fine after the 13th. They just didn't tell you...

Omg it was so quick. It took my prefecture 2 years to renew my titre de séjour, and during those 2 years I had to pass by and renew my récépissé every 3 months. I've mastered zen by that point.

Honestly it's all about governments knowing the importance of User Experience Design. As a UX Designer, I know that they could fix a lot of their problems and work load by just implementing some common known UX practices in their website and processes outside the website. When I did my internship in the french public services it was one of my tasks. It's hard to make them change, espcially back in 2015. Some sites are really well made though like oups.gouv.fr

@@Alextds To be honest to re-design how a whole system works takes time, in this case a lot of time. You definitely would need their collaboration and patience to make it work. I'm not saying that everything is wrong, UI wise I like that website, but I think UX wise they would need actual user data to determine how useful that website is (to be used, not how it looks) so I can't say how good that website is to be used. Also, not to say that you aren't capable of that job, but leaving those kind of duties to an intern won't work, not in France and not in this universe. I have 7 + years of experience in this industry and there is still stuff I don't know or take lots of effort to complete successfully. You would need more like multiple teams to collaborate and tackle these problems.

omg i've been having the same issue with getting a visa for Geneva. Their offices have been closed since MARCH. and the best part is, they turned off their phones due to the virus, and they're still off... as if the virus transmits through the phone?? When I got European citizenship I felt a happiness I don't remember feeling before, it was so hard, looooong process, loads of paperwork but It was granted. Some countries are more strict and bureaucratic than others so knowing what I know now, I am grateful for the way things took place during my application.

They make it so that you really have to want to live there, not just waltz in on a whim. Don't forget, a French visa gives you access to the entire Schengen zone; that's no joke, that's access to 26 different countries.

I'm so glad to be an EU citizen. So far I have lived/studied/worked in four different EU countries with no administrative hassle at all! I've never had a visa in my passport.

OUIIIIIIIIIII !!!!!! Félicitations ! You manage to have made this horrendous process very entertaining, I cried of laughter with the unefficient guy on the phone"je ne sais pas", seeing the line, the "you need to keep trying", the lady leaving and forgetting you, happy dancing and you made me cringe so much on the bridge, so scared to see the precious paper flying on the Seine xD. I'm gonna thank my parents for having been through this process so I was born French already, this shouldn't be taken for granted
