Using Anaconda Environments can save you a serious amount of time when it comes to python programming. In this short tutorial, I explain the concept of environments and why we need to use them. Thank you for the tutorial! Really great and simple to follow! Incase anyone had the same problem I did, after creating the new env, I needed to install Jupiter to the new env using the anaconda GUI. It was quite straight forward after that.

Thanks alot ! , say we have 2 projects with 2 different versions of python , So we create an environement for each one but if we need the same librarie for the 2 projects , so should I instaal the same librarie in each environement !! for example i need the tensorflow for 2 different projects in 2 different environements , should I install it in the 2 environement or what ?

It's not working in my case. It just says "kernel starting please wait " at the top right corner and nothing's working Edit: Finally figured out the solution. Only thing I had to do was run the command : conda install jupyter inside the environment and then start jupyter again. Hope this helps.

Hey I did the exact same steps, just one doubt- after activating the new environment, after installing jupyter nb and running it, It gave me a message that 8888 is currently in use and launched it at 8889. Would this be a problem in future?

Sounds like your port 8888 is being used by another application! If everything is working I don’t think it’ll be an issue...

Kernels are associated with environments, and typically there is one kernel per environment! So if you install a new library to the environment itself, it’ll work for whichever kernel you installed to that particular environment!

Why would you use pip alongside conda? Besides that to get the kernels available just conda install nb_conda_kernels.
