I love me some Marwyn builds. She is good in both high powered pump-storm and basic elves builds. She can even kill with commander damage

@@RatKillerSVS my split had a surprisingly low amount of elves it was a 17-13 split of elves to non-elves. But again my list is outdated and didnt play kogla and hyrax tower archer so that might have gone down.

@@saulon3065 Start by searching up " Marwyn pump storm" on tapped out. It serves as a good primer to build upon. It's a fast all in combo deck which you can then tune to your heart's desire. It's also quite cheap.

On the first game, how did Garrett net mana off the loop ? He had Marwyn, Priest, Reclamation, Fyndhorn and Fierce Empath on board, which means 5 mana pet tap of the Priest. Kogla's ability costs 1G and Hyrax costs 2G, which adds up to 5. Hyrax is not an elf, and thus did not add that 6th mana. Am I missing something ? Edit : I remembered that Priest count opponents' elves as well. Ryan had a mana dork elf of his own.

No, I believe Folger was just confused because two separate things are exiling his cards, so his instinct was just to exile them as well.

It's an Andrea Radeck/Firefeathers piece - she used to do a whole series of cute animal themed mats and sleeves for SCG, and still does adorable tokens and other merch under her own banner these days. I feel like Dark Confidant isn't as good as it used to be. In my opinion, although it does cost 2 more mana, Twilight Prophet is a better card. Losing life to draw a card is a great ability but when you lose life equal to the mana cost of the card, that's when thing's start going badly. Twilight Prophet does the exact opposite and it drains your opponents life instead. Maybe I'm wrong and it's not as good but in a cEDH, when your life is also a resource, I want to have as much of it as I can get, even if it's a very little amount.

I don't understand why vampiric tutor for peer into the abyss when you know you're about to cast ad nauseam putting yourself at 1 life where even if he had more mana, he cannot cast peer into the abyss since it says you lose half your life rounded up. That play made absolutely no sense. Also there is a deathrite shaman sitting across the table with mana available to kill at instant speed.

Cast Food Chain. Gain infinite creature mana through the use of a cast from exile creature such as squee the immortal or eternal scourge. Use that mana to cast The first sliver over and over (exiling it back to the command zone with food chain), and cascade through your deck casting all of your spells. Then cast Jace, Wielder of Mysteries and Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact, exile your library, and win.

So these games were just a Folger hate fest. Really nice to see. The amount of resources that were used to stop Folger and no one else is annoying. If one player is threatening a win then obviously you have to stop them. But when it's the same player, it makes it seem like everyone else's decks fall short so it's now become an Archenemy game.

I do not understand why Folger likes Vito so much. This is the first time it's ever threatened a win, otherwise it feels like a slew of other black commanders could do the winning job better. If someone can explain it to me, please do, I genuinely do not get the allure behind Vito, and I'm the resident mono-black player at my local game stores.
