Anakin didn’t deserve to be a Jedi Master. He was arrogant, reckless and had much to learn about the spiritual aspects of the Force. He was a good man who did heroic deeds during the Clone Wars buts doing that is it’s own reward.

Palpatine played brilliantly off of Anakin's blunders with his inner stability. At every turn he strokes his ego like you said. Preying on his fear, his feelings of uniqueness, etc and Anakin became even more hooked to Palpatine until he had bought in to the lies wholeheartedly.

If Anakin kept his temper in check and said something like, “I am honored to be on this council. However, is there a reason why I am not granted the rank of master. If there is anything I need to do or work on, please tell me so I can get better.”

Anakin was without a question one of the best fighters and strategists in the order but he lacked the necessary experience and wisdom in order to be recognized as a master yet and the way he acted in the council was a proof of that when he instantly argued against them on the basis of his power alone.

Did Anakin deserve the rank of master. Yes But on the flip side. His hiding secrets. Namely the sand people. 2 count Dooks death 3. And his extreme closeness to Padme not to mention he trusted the.emperor more then friends was why he didn't get it.

Anakin was a master in terms of combat ability. When it came to wisdom and discipline, he wasn’t a master in that regard. I understand that he had some emotional problems and that the Jedi order didn’t really help much. If Qui Gon had lived, he would have helped Anakin with his problems. Unfortunately this was not the case here.

He even mentions how he basically single handedly won the battle to save the planet they're standing on. Also he's the strongest living Jedi, potentially the strongest to ever exist. He's far from some newbie who just barely graduated.

@@SgtSpeedyyou're making the same mistake as Anakin Being on the Jedi Council isn't about being a good fighter, it's about having the wisdom and maturity to lead. Winning a lot of fights does not and never has entitled someone to be on the council. Someone that could be easily convinced to murder a bunch of kids to save one person does not belong in a leadership position.

The Jedi council has justifiable reasons for not granting Anakin the rank of master. They all know that Anakin is hiding secrets from them like his slaughtering of the sand people, specific details of Count Dooku's death, and Anakin's marriage to Padme. The council knows that Anakin isn't being forthcoming with them and it didn't help that he's getting too close to Palpatine thus why Anakin is denied the rank of master.

He should have been given a chance to earn the title of master. It is a pity that they did not know then how important it was for him and how such an attitude towards the chosen one would turn out for the entire order. Although there were chances to improve the situation. For example, the same Windu could take Anakin as an apprentice to teach him how to control the dark side and use it for good. Moreover, to protect others from the uncontrollable anger of a boy who has not been properly trained. And they didn't teach Anakin not to fall for provocations like Palpatine. Not to mention the fact that it was not explained that the visions could be the tricks of the Sith and all this is a trap to lure Skywalker to Palpatine's side.
