"I'm a Jedi, like my *father* before me" is my favorite quote. Having grown up with a distinct lack of a true father, or father figure, it has always hit home for me when Luke literally throws away power for a man who he'd only ever known to be a myth &/or a terror. I hope that one day, if I ever meet my father, that I would be strong enough to do the same.

"Your focus determines your reality" gets too close to The Secret for my own comfort. Looking at it from the locus of control makes the most sense to me. I honestly didn't know the Stoics were into that, but it makes total sense. And I absolutely agree with you that fear and the desire for control was Ani's downfall.

The Secret is based in real stuff but there’s better explanations of it than that. Try Dr. Joe Dispenza and Neville Goddard. The change happens with a change of identity and aligning your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, self talk into a non conflicting identity and THEN your reality will shift beyond just the obvious character shifts. You’ll start attracting new things suddenly and coincidentally and life and people will treat you differently even before you open your mouth because as your identity changes, your energy changes and everything is made out of energy at the smallest level. It’s a fact, just look it up. It’s actually very common knowledge now. Tons of science supports it as well if you Google search proof on it. The double slit experiment proves that reality adjusts itself to your observation and what kind of observation you give it. I have so much evidence on this it would turn this comment way too long. It’s worked in my own life as well so I speak for it based off my own experience as well. I think you don’t want the law of attraction to be true because then that means you have to stop complaining or stop being the person you are and you don’t like that unknown. It’s scary for you. You probably also don’t like the idea that you’re the creator of your life and the way you manage your thoughts and feelings determines how your life unfolds, how good your luck turns out, what you attract, etc. I also have a feeling despite this long and thorough explanation, you’re just gonna say “Hogwash!” And provide no counter arguments. That’s what all “ignoring game people” do when the hard truth smacks them in the face. This stuff is very real and no matter what you believe, it’ll continue to run your life and yet you’ll blame it on something else. The moment you believe something, your life crafts a world around it that only you see and the people who believe the same as you will see. It’s why we all coexist on the same planet, have drastically different world views, life rules and experiences and somehow the “reality” is different for each of us! That alone proves the law of attraction/law of assumption/manifestation is very real but you can only detect that if you disconnect from your identity and observe is as a spectator. As the identity you’ll see ONLY what’s in alignment with the identity. If you choose to not believe in this, then you’ll craft your life yourself and pretend the “world did it” and then you’ll call it fate when all along, you were the sole director of your life and fully responsible for it.

I remember being 16 and my aunt winning me a premiere ticket to Episode 1. All the marketing hype around the movie two characters stood out to me the most Darth Maul and Qui Gonn. Also my favorite ‘line’ is Empire Strikes Back. Yoda’s speech to Luke: “Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.”

Anakin couldn’t control Padme fate but he can control himself and how he react to it the thing force vision is they are double edged swords they don’t guarantee it will happen if he trusted Padme and himself chose to focus on the here and now she would definitely have lived because him turning dark side is not the answer.

I collected those cans! Never got them all... Also do you remember a contest where you could collect pog-like tokens of Star Wars characters from several fast food restaurants and enter to win a million dollars or something...? Thinking about Anakin's desire for control, I wonder...did he constantly worry about his mother before episode 2? I find the Freudian thing of making Padme into a substitute mother out of place, given that he did have a very healthy relationship with his mother. Even though their relationship was cut short, he got a lot of mothering from her before being sent out into the world to become a man.

Somewhat. They certainly gave him the wrong advice and we’re not empathetic enough to see what he was going through in Ep iii. I do think it’s somewhat important to not absolve Anakin of blame. The Jedi order perhaps failed most by letting him in at all.
