Analog FPV still King in 2024?

Tried analog FPV for the first time after switching to digital-only 2 years ago and man it feels so good. Flyable range is somehow better than DJI V1 because the image just gets a little sketchy instead of 5 fps with latency spikes. I was even using my side mounted VTX antenna which I didn't think would do that well with analog.
Only got this one pack in because I smoked a motor and it was getting dark already.
Also was using the new Gemfan Proxy prop here, which is awesome for this kind of right flying, but the colorways with the little specs in them seem to break a lot unfortunately :/

I personally find I’m able to better judge distances and notice the fisheye distortion less with digital over analog. Digital might be higher quality with better penetration, but analog still has a place in my heart with its organic feel.

Ive been flying FPV for almost 9 years and i can tell if a pilot is good or not in the first 2-3 seconds after the quad leaves the ground. All i need to see is how he immediately manages throttle and that the only movements it makes are needed and for nothing else. Its like someone who owns a dog but the dog only listens when it wants a treat vs an owner who has total control at all times in which the dog doesn't even think for itself and relys solely on the master for direction. That dog is this guys quad and its always fun to watch someone fly whos so locked in its just an extension of their hands and eyes. I fly very similar to this but not so risky and its always cool for people walking by to ask what im doing then to put an extra set of googles on and take them for a ride on the limits of what they thought was possible. The best is doing a 300+ft dive straight down inverted full throttle and then flipping back upright at about 30-40ft to a hard full throttle 360 turn which bleeds that momentum off immediately with no prop wash if done right and only about 20ft away from ourselves. It feels incredible when you get it just right and the audible scream from the quad at max everything really makes the person go "Holy Shit!!!" and then say "Sorry about that... i just wasnt ready for whatever just happened". Those reactions are part of this hobby that keeps me flying for almost 10 years coming up soon. Sorry so long but this video has me all juiced to go fly!!! Im going flying...

I much prefer the simplicity of analog and the ability to save your ass. With digital, your feed craps out and you are toast. With analog, you can still kind of see what is going on and have a chance to save the day. Plus fixed, low latency vs. stuttering blurfest and nausea. I much prefer analog.

I was not touching digital fpv systems for a long time as I knew it would be trouble for my pocket. Then when I got away from my all fpv gears and needed to start all over again. I decided to give digital a try. I got WalkSnail Avatar X and different size quads from whoop to 5". I will never look back. I try analog for few times recently and I don't wanna deal with this Minecraft any more. My advice for analog pilots: don't look inside digital fpv goggles. Cheers.

Started with DJI Air Units a few years ago and have been shifting the majority of my quads to Analog or HDZero. Lot's of pros & cons but Analog just feels way too good - plus, I don't care if I'm smashing into things nearly as much.

Analog is fatshark attitude v6 + fusion module and TBS Pro32, and for digital I got the DJI V1 goggle + Vista or Walksnail Goggle X. A good analog module and antennas makes a huge difference compared to the default receiver in most cheap goggles. Maybe you can find some good used analog goggles with a fusion or rapidfire for cheap :D

Analog will always reign supreme, especially trappys revised TBS Unify Pro32 V2... pushing 3 watts and crystal clear picture.... Why get anything else, this is $49 add a few bucks for the optional heat sink.... It's so good, you can get 2 for less then half of what a dji 03 air unit costs
