Thank you so much for posting on what exactly you're doing here. It just gives me so much more appreciation on the production. At 1:20, I'm not clear, the bassline and perucssions are coming from the Rytm MKII, as well? Your comment at 5:04 is spot on. I'm new to the synthesizer game. I have both the Analog Four MKII and RTYM MKII, I was hesitant on Elektron's workflow. But I must say, their sequencers are very intuitive and very powerful to use. I know understand why people rave about Elektron's sequencer workflow as the best in the business. Lastly, I seldom ever Nords in an electronic dance jam. Personally, I want to get one because they look so freaking cool.

I have been following you since you posted the Digi duo video. I love the setup and eventually I'd like to have a setup like yours. I have been working on a DAWless setup and your videos help a lot. Thank you for sharing this setup as well, gives me the idea of which next hardware to buy. I cannot wait for more of your jams!

Smooth, polished jam! Thanks for the putting in the extra description text for all us gear heads. :) Just got an A4. It's hard resisting an AR seeing vids like this one, the pairing is just so natural by design.

Thanks for the kind words. It was the same for me - A4 first and the AR quickly joined the party. I actualy had a MFB Tanzbaer 2 as an analog drum machine, but AR works so great together with A4.” And has a few extra bonuses, such as external in and master compressor.

@@EugenBoico may I ask...how are you recording your music for mastering? Do you multitrack all 8 tracks from rytm and all 4 from a4?
@EugenBoico3 жыл бұрын
@@Maxi3242 Sure, I have a couple of setups and I always try to group/submix all my material into four busses: Kick Bass Percussion Synths I always try to track these separately as I can then mix and master having these 4. It is easy to do that as A4 has external in for other synth(s) and AR has also an external in for other sources of percussion. AR allows running the kick on a separate out and take it out from the stereo mix. Also AR runs external ins through its compressor blending all of percussion nicely. I use a Zoom R24 recorder for one setup and a Zoom L12 for another bigger setup. Hope this helps 👍

Question, I mostly use my elektrons with overbridge, but Id like to link them.up.with cables for when I don't want to turn on my PC. Midi is fine, but would you route the A4 into the rytm or the other way around?
@EugenBoico2 жыл бұрын
I would definitely route the A4 into Rytm than the other way around because Rytm sums the internal sounds and the inputs via a compressor giving a more cohesive / glued mix. I’m trying to recreate as much as possible the traditional DAW mixing in hardware, so, an even better setup would be to set a sidechain compressor (such as RNC) between A4 and Rytm and use one of the pads / outputs on Rytm to trigger the sidechain on compressor. This, plus subtle compression of the wgole mix in Rytm would give a pretty finalized glued sound I recon. It will then depend on chosen timbres and levels for each.

Really awesome video, thanks for posting it! Can I ask, was the bass sample on the Rytm a factory loaded sample or was it one of your own?
@EugenBoico3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It was one of my samples. Just a dry saw that I tamed using Rytm’s filter.

Are you sequencing any melodic parts on the ARmk2? How are you doing so?
@EugenBoico2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I sequence the bass in this case and also a simple melody that goes via separate out to Dark World. I disable the drum synth and use a tuned sample on one of the Rytm voices - usually a C2 or C3, then play it chromatically on the pads or manually adjust the notes on each trig in the sequence by referencing the note value on the screen. ARMk2 also has the option to use a 2osc synth voice on one of the pads, so you can avoid having samples and play the synth.

@@EugenBoico Very interesting! I just sent you a message via FB asking you some more specific questions. (I'm considering trading in my ARmk2 for a Syntakt, and this video made me reconsider that decision.)
@tendingtropic77783 жыл бұрын
very nice work. May I ask, what stands do you use for the A4 and RYTM?
@EugenBoico3 жыл бұрын
This is built on Jasper stands, however, on the top, I have made a plywood base, that sits on two big Jasper hands. On that plywood base, I’ve placed two pairs of 3D printed stands: www.thingiverse.com/thing:3442312 I scaled these to 140% (the original is designed for Digitakt) and had them 3d printed on order. In between the base and the 3d printed stand I have some rubber tissue stripes to prevent sliding. Rubber tissue = the thing you put between a wooden floor and a carpet so that it does not slide. Or the thing you put on a car dashboard as a mat to place your phone on. Came out very sturdy.

What's the major difference between elektron rytm and analogue four?
@EugenBoico Жыл бұрын
Rytm is a 12 voice drum machine that can but is limited at playing melodies, while Analog Four is a four voice synth that can but is limited at playing drums. They perfectly compliment each other when Rytm is for percussion and samples and A4 is for melodic content such as Bass, Pads, Leads.

@@RorertoLombardo every instrument in this setup is second hand. It cost me 4K max. Wavestate is an awesome synth, but you will not ever get 2 or more parts of it simultaneously 😅 A macbook running a daw is a better comparison, however, I like my instruments more real 🥸
