Well in fact with two of this prince of tone we can have the same and probably more than the king because with the switches it enhance all the possibilities. Nice review😊👍👏

Great video. Do you know the difference in diodes used in the KoT vs PoT. I read that the PoT dist. mode is changed vs the KoT. Since the only thing OD and Dist does is put diodes in the circuit, I wonder if you cab see what diodes were used in the PoT. The KoT has MA856 for OD and 1S1588 for Dist...

I’ve been playing guitar and been a tone hound for about 30 yrs. I started out chasing David Gilmore’s tone with muffs and a lot of modulation. Then I went through some great amps and became the plug straight in guy. What I’ve finally settled on is a Marshall jtm45 clone with four pedals; a Fulltone Clyde McCoy wah, into a PoT, into a Suhr RIOT, into a TC Elec x4. This rig kicks some serious ass, ridiculously versatile and I have total control over my tone. Any ways I’ve been through a million OD’s and the PoT is the best SRV modded tube screamer tone I’ve ever heard. It definitely has a TS type of sound without the little quirks a TS has that I don’t like. I’ve never owned but I have played a KoT(after playing a KoT is the reason I wound up buying the PoT)To me it sounds very similar to the PoT. But to be fair I’ve never played a KoT through my rig and I’ve never heard the PoT side by side with a KoT

The POT and the KOT are based on the Marshall Bluesbreaker and so not a TS clone.

While you’re chasing David Gilmour’s tone, maybe you can learn to spell. Tone hound? Yeah, sure!

Around 2 min you show the internal switches on off....but you say you turned the first one on! Then go on to play, with it in the OFF (down) position?

I wish you turned the tone down on the POT to make it more similar. Seems like the POT has a bit mor tone at the same position.

Nice video, a clean base tone that is actually clean. I like the KoT better, the extra base gives it a bit more "dimension".

I'd like to hear a demo of the KOT boost after the overdrive. All the demos always have it after...

Thanks for uploading :) The Prince is just a bit thinner compared to the King. Prince of tone is very reminding of the Sigma drive by CMatMods. Your Esquire sounds great with the Swart !! \m/

I wonder if running the KOT at 18v would make it louder?

Great demo! Really considering pulling the trigger on a PoT (or a JHS Morning glory or a Bondi Del Mar) while I'm waiting for my KoT. I really can't hear a difference when they're at low gain.. Maybe a slight difference in mid frequencies when in higher gain, meaning, PoT has a little bit more of a mid hump.. Might just be from me listening to it through laptop speakers. Love the demo, it was very helpful. Thanks!

Nice comparison...KOT seemed slightly warmer and more complex...tough call as far as price and availability

Very good vid. One thing about most of these type of vids that I don't like is that you don't give your opinion at the end. To me, watching the video they sound exactly alike. I'm on the list for the KoT. I still want that. The PoT is available in small numbers on Wednesdays, Analogue Mike told me.

For all practical applications, apart from needing the controls at different settings to get the same sounds, they sound identical to me - at least when you compare one side of the KOT to the POT (see the 'Unobtania' comparison from Daniel TheGigRig to compare both sides - the KOT can be much more complex, IMHO). Excellent tones from both POT & KOT, so I don't really get the hype of the KOT unless you absolutely need / want / must-have that complexity or a footswitchable OD/Boost pedal (I have a J.Rockett Led Boots for that purpose and its specifically 'late-'60s Marshally' tone...). Really good demo, thanks

these things represent the ultimate in tubescreamer type pedals to me....the holy grail if you will...some people would consider a klon to be theirs but they just seem like a different thing altogether...which is an odd thing to say since they're all 3 knob od units...that's just my impression though...at some point I'd like to have one of each on my board to have access to all their settings...despite the volume disparity, there doesn't seem to be a bad sound in these boxes
