I remember getting into Master Replica's Force FX sabers that were like $100 at Borders back in 05. Hasbro's versions are cheaper made but cost three times as much. Even when adjusted for inflation, it's obvious they're massively overpriced for their quality.

As a long time saber collector and builder, this saber is GREAT for the price! There are more accurate looking Luke ROTJ hero sabers, but the price increases substantially. Great find Tony!

I have the same one. Instead of thrusting it forward with motion control on to turn it on, just spin it like you are in the video. It turns on in the spin. Looks cool. Also, instead of holding the button to change the sound font, hold it upside down and twitch your wrist in the same motion that you would if you were revving a motorcycle. It will cycle through the fonts. The same wrist twitch will turn it off if it is on

So I've been getting Damiens sabers(LGT) for a couple years now. I see you got the baselit version. They have 3 versions of Luke ep6 hilts, the basic one you have, next one with a control box and side clamp, the 3rd and top tier is the control box with the red and green arrows which is the most screen accurate. You can get baselit 4 font and 12 font smooth swing, best is the Xenopixel which has LED's in the blade for more realistic ignition, blaster deflect, lockup and tipdrag. I've been able to get the 2nd hilt with control box w/clamp on sale for $158 in the Xenopixel version. Baselit is best for dueling, but nothing beats the Xenopixel w/34 fonts. The 3rd hilt/ most accurate will run$ 245, so I just got the 2nd hilt w/control box/clamp/Xeno @ $158 it's the best deal. The only difference between the 3 is basically #1 no C box, #2 C box w/clamp and #3 C box w/ arrows. That it, just control boxes. So @ $158( when on sale) its not worth $85 extra for arrows and the box doesn't get in the way. I highly recommend you get the Xenopixel one as you can add fonts and some fonts have music tracks also. The one you got is still a great deal. Hope this helps a little. Also ppl should know Damiens sabers is what most resellers in the U.S. stock and just mark it up. Shipping from China is usually 7 to 10 days, which is amazing. Thanks for the video.

Been a Star Wars fan all my life. I remember seeing the original Star Wars in the theater when I was little. Always wanted one of these kind of sabers but didn’t want to break the bank. After watching this video, I immediately ordered one from Damien Sabers. It came in the mail yesterday(ahead of schedule) and I’ve got say I’m absolutely having blast with it. I picked up one of the Black Series ANH Luke sabers a few years ago when they went clearance so they could re-issue them with Rey branding (LOL) and generally liked it. My favourite saber has always been the ROTJ version and I kind of put it at the back of my mind as something I'd never spend the money on for a good replica because the Black Series versions were shite. I own two Hasbro sabers including the Luke green, which are nice, but I gotta say, the price on these is unbelievable and you are getting way, way more features. The rechargeable battery is a major plus as well. I'm definitely going to consider picking one of these up in the near future. Very nice!

The Dark Ages setting seems to be in reference to the original Tales of the Jedi Dark Lords, where they used metal and crystal blades. Can also be from Dawn of the Jedi katana type blades.

I have a really old Luke's Empire Strikes Back one from ForceFX. This one looks much nicer as just the hilt. This one has far more features too it seems, pretty sure mine just has the sound effects for motion and clash. I can only see one thing I still prefer on the ForceFX one and that's the blade lighting up is more progressive, where this one looks like it just all lights up at once. The way you can make the blaster deflection sound is awesome

Your luke ESB is worth quite a bit! And yes, your blade has LEDs inside the blade. It's older tech that has been improved in the custom saber community (pixel blades), while hasbro and disney parks still use similar old tech to yours. Down side is, they can be damaged if you duel with another saber weilding opponent. Opposite of that is what Tony has here, with a base lit or in hilt LED. These are much better for duels, but its much harder to make the colling ramping up and down effect.

I have this base lit saber, albeit without the motion controls. The hilt is gorgeous. I've never been a fan of the protruding doorbell. It handles better without it.

I've got a Chinese saber too. I got one for 70 bucks and it's league's ahead of the Hasbro stuff with a machined aluminium hilt. It's a non movie one but I could care less. It's fun swinging it around and it's durable enough for play fighting with a similar saber. It's what I always wanted in the 80s and more. Unlike the PO's my dad got us that we broke in under 5 minutes....my dad was not pleased. 😅

I would love to go after one of these, however, I didn't hear any of the actual sounds that Luke's saber made in ROTJ. To me, the sounds were all the basic blue one. Especially when igniting and switching off, Luke's green one is very unique. Also, are there any LED's actually in the blade? Also also, if you select the latest and greatest version of this saber, it is $240.

Hi there, to those questions, the one tony got is baselit RGBX version so there's no LEDs inside, the xenopixel version(240$)as you said has neopixel blades which has stripes of LEDs inside the blade, as for the fonts, the RGBX only got 12 fonts while xenopixel has got 34 of them, a large variety of sounds and much like the sounds from the movies.

Hey, thanks for the info on functions. I found another version of the saber, with the box for buttons (more similar to Luke's Return of the Jedi saber) in a outlet store, it was thrown on one side, and it was missing the cover of the button box + the part of the button that presses into the small sensor button at the bottom (the clickable thingy). So for me to press on that, I have to use a watch smiths screwdriver inverted to be able to press on it (BTW, thanks for the tip on the thrust to turn it on and off, and also found if I rotate it around it's axis and back quickly, it will also turn on and off). I think this is also of Chinese make (Aliexpress probably). Anyway, do you have an inkling of an idea where I could find something to replace the missing button part? I know this is a very crazy ask, but this seems so screen accurate, it must be a knockoff of a brand saber... This one also has light effects for different saber variations including one that feels like Kylo's. Could not get it to do the blaster deflect by pushing forward while holding it horizontally. I think it doesn't have the dark saber. No princess. It has a female voice describing the variations, volume change, and adding the impact effect.

I have to admit that I fell for a Hasbro Elite FX lightsaber (or whatever these are called now). I feel I got really ripped off after learning that the Darksaber I own is really only good to look pretty on its stand and holding it very gingerly. As my daughter and I joined a costuming club which does some lightsaber sparring, this thing would be dead at the very first clash. So we purchased a Damien Saber for each of us. I am really looking forward to these, how they really feel in your hand (the Hasbro saber is VERY heavy. You could use the hilt itself as a club. Good for a workout maybe, but without the thin blade. Which is already slightly bent just from standing around).

When Star Wars came out May 25th 1977 on the Millennium Falcon and in Ben Kenobi's home Luke had a yellow lightsaber. Some fans forget that, and George Lucas changed it that's why the action figure had a yellow blade

I have this from a place in the UK. It’s amazing, but I wouldn’t call it Luke Skywalker’s because it’s close, very close, but not quite. And you can actually get Luke’s here in the UK that is correct. The difference is the box that sits over the ignition button, and that’s all. But that’s a very small thing, overall it’s an amazing lightsaber
