Hey folks, I hope you enjoyed this video! A couple clarifications as it's been brought up in a few comments. First, to jailbreak the console, you literally just need to drag/drop the jailbreak file over to the SD card, pop the SD card into the console, and it will start updating automatically. Second, it wasn't explained in the video (primarily because I forgot this is needed to be done), but you do want a BIOS folder on the SD card with all the proper special chip files (DSP-1, for instance). Without these, games that need them will not load. Third, all those extra folders you see are custom folders I made to sort my games and other things (like SPC music files). Lastly, I wanted to note that the gameplay footage at the end looks a bit softer than it's supposed to. This is because I had to shrink the footage down during capturing because of the jailbreak's higher resolution file menu. I then blew the footage back up in my editing software, causing a softer image. The Super NT outputs a ridiculously crisp image, so what you see here in this video is not indicative of what you will see in person. Hi have you any good info on how to get the BIOS files working? I have them but they don't work with the roms. I get the message "Expansion not supported" when I try and run Starfox or Kirby's Dreamland 3 for example. At my wits end here trying to make this work. And there is little or no information out there on how to do this. Thanks

Nice Austin, I’m so glad I kept hold of mine when I got the mister (I seem to remember you sold your mega SG and Super Nt to fund the cost of that). I need to do the latest firmware but I always put it off because it erases all my settings every time you do it, which is no small thing to put back.

Yeah that is true. Thankfully for me I'm a lazy bastard and tend to not adjust the settings much (the default look out of the box is to my liking).

I love my Analogue consoles! Those, as well as my Retron5 before them, were what really got me back into 8 and 16-bit gaming. I bought the Mega SG when it was originally released, then got into the Super NT about 2 years ago. I actually ended up with 3 Super NTs, though not at the same time; Super Famicom version, SNES version, and the all black version. Sadly, the SNES one that I got directly from Analogue has some kind of video issue, and their tech support never got back to me about it. The other two I bought from eBay work perfectly, so go figure.

Sorry to hear you had a defective one. Seems to be rare with these, but I've also heard Analogue's support isn't the greatest when there are actual issues.

I have received my final run SuperNt too, this is my 2nd as I have a Ghostly Edition I wanted to put away for safe keeping. I got the SF version too. Also as an FYI there is a modded version of R-Type which uses some of the hardware better and has zero slowdown.

Yeah, that's the SA-1 version. Came out a couple years ago. It's an interesting way to play the game, but it does make it significantly more difficult. The bullets get insanely fast when played on Hard Mode without slowdown.

I'm not going to buy one of these so don't spend a lot of time researching this, I'm just curious if Super Road Blaster (a.k.a. Road Avenger on the Sega CD) plays on this? It plays on my SD2SNES but I was just curious if the game plays on the Super NT?

No. That uses the MSU-1 and the jailbreak does not support it. You would need to use a SD2SNES/FX Pak Pro with the system.

Question what are ppl using for game capture I have elgato and im getting picture but no sound. How is everyone getting around this?

Elgatos can be fickle. I had a lot of issues with mine depending on the console I was using. I currently have a Datapath capture card (VisionLC HD-2).

@@GameplayandTalk yeah they have work around like the chat link pro for the ps5 but that uses the controller to capture the audio. There is no audio jack on the NT . Thanks I’ll look that one up

In the moment I didn't realize BIOS files were necessary, and all the extra folders were basically just my way of organizing my various games and whatnot. However, I did find out last night that you DO need to populate the BIOS folder with all the special chips the jailbreak supports (like DSP-1 for instance used in Pilotwings), otherwise the games that need them won't load.

@@GameplayandTalkthat’s what I was thinking as well. But I m still struggling to find an exact solution for how to setup that bios folder. I hear rumours it can do enhancement chips! Did you find out what to do?

@@JGRICH61 Yes, the SuperNT does do enhancement chips, but not all of them (for instance, it does not do SuperFX from the SD card). All you do is drag the bios files for each of the special chips (i.e., dsp1, dsp1b, dsp2, etc) into the folder. That's it.

@@donmcron3334 You need the jailbreak bios if you want to run games from the SD card. Otherwise it should play carts fine out of the box (however, you're going to want to update the firmware regardless as there are compatibility issues that have since been fixed since the console was released).

@GameplayandTalk: Hey there I have this issue: I get a pop up saying that this game pak is not designed for use on my super famicom/super nes. I am from EU and so are my cartridges (DK Country). By now I figured that if u switch it to PAL they work but only with 1080 60 fps which is weird. 1080 with 50 fps on pal still gets me that error. The problem is that even with PAL and 1080 60FPS the video quality is really bad. Is there any suggestions, thank you. I am on a Samsung AU 7100 65 inch tv.

It is such a shame they aren't going to be making these anymore, i would love to have bought one, missed opportunity by the manufacturers of these consoles to stop making them too as they could have made a fortune if they had kept them on the market.

Yeah, I agree. I wonder what their reasoning is behind closed doors as to why they decided to pull it. Maybe sales were slowing down, or costs increasing on parts, who knows.

Traditionally, when they go out of stock on Analogue's site, they skyrocket in value on eBay and so it's not really worth the cost at that point. Now that these runs are final, we'll see if that happens again. It probably will (prices going up quite a bit).

Did they clearly state that they are not making anymore? Because they do run out and restock, like every year or so. They take a while to restock but they eventually do restock them. I got mine in their third restock or something.
