Analogue console design is cool but they should’ve made it a top loader (like the TurboDuo and PC Engine Duo R/RX) to prevent a disc from getting stuck when it fails in the future.

That thing u did at 6.37 with the Split Decision had me screaming with laughter and I don't know why, but I love it. I remember looking at Beast in a Magazine at the time and yes I recall that everyone praised these spectacular graphics but what I didn't know that the sound was incredible to, listen to that pipe music.

Great episode! Hard to say which knocked my socks off more- Gate of Thunder or Winds of Thunder. Thanks for showing Shadow of the Beast, I always knew this was originally an Amiga game but the PCE version looks to be the definitive way to play- the music is really something! I have this game for the Atari Lynx and it really is an excellent conversion too, a showpiece for the system as well! I have the ‘horseshoe crab’ Super CD ROM 2 setup and it’s been working fine for years thankfully. I’m not so sure I’ll fork over 200 bucks to play on a HDTV though, I have the game station and all the wii virtual console downloads for that. IMO the PC Engine looks best on a CRT anyway. But the price for the analogue seems reasonable, unlike some of their past offerings. I hope everyone who wants one is able to get one before it all goes to the scalpers

I bought a PS classic mini when it went down to 25$. I put every Turbo/PCE hucard and CD rom on a USB stick. It saved me about $20k just in Turbografx alone.

The Turbo Duo-R is the route I went, and then did an RGB mod on it to get them crispy sharp pixels via my Framemeister. It's fantastic and has never let me down. It's FAR more reliable than any of the other PC Engine CD options without question, as it used high quality capacitors unlike all of the other options. It is extremely hard to find a working CD unit that isn't a Duo-R or RX that hasn't already been restored. You almost always find them non-working unless they have been restored/serviced. Duo-R/RX on the other hand is usually in working condition without any work having been done to it since it was first produced.

But I gotta tell you it went back flaccid when I saw it said limited 1000 quantity. Few things piss me off more than the thought of all the pc engine nuts and others who want to try it, left with their thumb up their ass when they sell out in 3 minutes and then show up on eBay for three times the price. I’m super excited man but I hope analogue does the right thing and puts the kibosh on this limited nonsense. Turbo fans deserve better. Haven’t we been kicked in the nuts enough already? 😂

I'm on the mailing list for the Analogue Turbo Duo the minute l heard about it but l think its gonna be a tough job scooping one up so best of luck to us all on that one. I have the briefcase style Japanese PC engine with the CD- Rom unit and its my pride and joy but like yourself l have heart failure every time l switch it on as to whether it will work. So asking around to people that have had similar issues. They said that if you are still having audio issues using HU cards, its likely a bad cap(s). If you are only having sound issues for CD games, it's likely the lens on the CD-Rom. Maybe it's worth doing a little troubleshooting before shipping it off anywhere. The caps on that thing are ceramic, and last a way longer than the caps used in the standard black Duo. While it's not impossible, I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. For as little use that thing got before you came into possession of it, unless that thing took some drunken tumbles, its likely one of those two problems.

Love Jessie's enthusiasm listing to game music and rocking out, makes me smile ear to ear! So, the Duo looks cool but you have to consider Analogue's bullshit hype-exploiting business practices. "Limited numbers" and one year pre-orders like for the Analogue Pocket (which all those people who paid $200+ for months ago still haven't got yet) being two of them! If you pre-order the Duo, if you're lucky enough to be 'allowed' to have one, expect to be paying fully up front now and getting the console in 2022, and if you live abroad, add another $100+ for shipping and taxes etc. BitHead has a point about the ease of use, but if you are technically-minded, the MiSTer project is the best alternative for FPGA-quality hardware simulation, and that plays all the consoles plus arcades.

Just make sure you have your credit card stored your phone/computer. Analogue products sell out maybe ten minutes after going on sale. I was fortunate enough to get the black analogue pocket. Many didn't.

Analogue makes great FPGA systems that output perfect picture quality and gameplay to exact specs. Plus you can get the jailbreak to use an sd card to play roms. Only problem is they are very difficult to get and you have to pre order almost a year in advance.
