True freedom , in Africa today is not about still being shackled to their former colonial masters , but about individual corrupt Governments , just look at the history of SA and the ANC and Zimbabwe, ZANU-PF both former bread baskets of Africa and now Basket cases ! inequality is rife on a large scale in every country and the reasons which create the wide disparities in those countries have little to do with western influence . the planets corruption index scores will give you an idea of the scale of the problem

The French-wealth of Niger. France retained 4 principle parts of a nation’s sovereignty, when she granted independence to Niger. That is similar to what the United States (US) did in 1952 with the establishment of the “Commonwealth of Puerto Rico”. Puerto Rico still remains today a US colony, despite 42 United Nations’ resolutions asking her to immediately return Puerto Rico’s sovereignty to the Puerto Ricans. The military of the African nations are willing to fight for the Africans, than for France. Isn’t that democracy? Empires are rich because they steal!

Puerto Rico has voted to stay a colony, and wants to join the United States. And no, it's not democracy when a small group seizes power by force. That's the opposite. Africans don need democracy, they need a system that breeds leaders and those leaders get ellected. "Democracy" in the form of western prescription for africa, does not work in africa. You can see how african populist politicians are not leaders but just self-enriching scammers. And africans struggle very hard with democracy coz they need a focused government that actually leads, not one that leads by populism. Democracy, as it is defined in the west, will never work in Africa. You can see how we are struggling with it here in south africa when people are just burning everything and destroying everything. Politicians are corrupt and the system is not able to hold them to account and they keep killing each other every day. We should have created our own system of governance after our monarchy system of rule. The monarchy was like the judiciary, their fundamental role was to know the law of the land and ajudicate on matters of law of the people. Our monarchy system was findamentaly a law system. The succession system was based on the knowledge acquired over the years. Children were born and taught the law and to rule based on the law and patriotism and when the time came, a person that has been trained in law and patriotism, was raised to power. We should have looked at the similar system like the judiciary and pick our keaders from there. No politics, just some sort of succession. The leaders are elected by the people from the bench of the highest court in the land and rule for ten years. The ten years will be separated in two terms and the leader can only serve their second term if they have delivered on the national KPIs (key perfomance indicators). This would be measured by an independent body. If the individual fail to deliver on their KPIs, they automatically get disqualified and new elections would be held. This system would work for africans, not this democracy of populism which is void of credible leaders and patriots.

So what system of governance fits Africa ? Just to let you know no matter the system of governance be it democracy, communism, monarchy or any it willnever work and does not guarantee success. There is no recipe for success of Africa until the fundamental principles that fosters the support the rule of law and order, policies that is gravitated towards human capital development, infrastructure development are enshrined in the day to day running of the government. In a nutshell it is not democracy or any other system of governance is the problem,it is failure of socalled Leaders who are visionless, corrupt and failure to adopt the fundamental principles.

Come, then, comrades, the European game has finally ended; we must find something different. Coups d'etat are always undesirable, and so is invasion of sovereign countries by other countries, purportedly to resolve the country's internal problems, except where gross human rights abuses, such as genocide, justify such an international intervention. However countries change their leaderships, whether democratically through elections, or undemocratically, through military takeovers, the new leaderships can protect themselves and their countries by, among other things, honoring all existing international debt obligations. Furthermore, whatever purported justifications military leaders may give for ousting the democratically elected government, they are universally expected to announce time frames for free and fair elections, and return to civilian rule, whether terms of office will commence from the year of their takeover, or before... Failure to adhere strictly to such elementary principles of state craft and diplomacy will invite heavy-handed foreign interventions, which would be sure to result in more spilling of blood, of locals and internationals... G-d bless!

Their actions give credence to the revered former president of Tanzania, the late Mwalimus Julius Kambarage Nyerere, statement that OAU, now AU is a Club for dictators where they meet to protect one another against their own people. The coup leaders are expressing the hope of the people, see how the populations have reacted with excitement at the coup. If they are genuine, they should address the issues underlying the coups.
