ANALYSIS: Beau Pribula Transfers to Mizzou

Penn State fan here. Congrats on Pribula. I'm not like some other PSU fans and think he should've started over Allar, because he shouldn't have. Allar is a stud and a true NFL prospect, however Pribula is a football player and seems to have the 'it' factor even from his limited playing time at PSU. He has a ton of untapped potential and I hope he realizes his potential at Mizzou.

Maybe I’m crazy or wrong but it wouldn’t surprise me at all if this ends up a one year thing and he goes back to you guys for his senior year if the options open. From what I’ve seen seems to me he was a penn state kid all the way but wanted to be a starter now that he’s a rs jr which hey makes sense wouldnt blame him either. Best of luck with the games coming up. If it comes down to y’all and Texas I gotta root for sec nonsense though nothing personal haha

Pribula is a great teammate and natural leadership skills. He will be gravitated to as a leader of the team. If Pribula had been QB1 at Penn State he gets named a team captain much earlier and more decisively than Beau. The running game will excel with Pribula at QB and he will be tough to beat out for the starter as he has an amazing work ethic and is also a true student athlete.

Meeting Beau in person made it easy to make the offer. Yes, his passing skills will still need some polishing but receivers will likely get schemed open when the running game is working.

I also think him and Zollers being friends lowers the odds of Zollers leaving for any reason

I think Beau has the "it" factor. He looks like the game is slower for him. I am a huge fan of this move. This has the opportunity to open up the offense a lot. He is very accurate on the move. He is dangerous in the hands of a good OC. M-I-Z

I’ll push back on pribula being the starter. Unless They Make Horn declare one sport I think the understanding is when Healthy Horn will be QB1 at least when hes able to. But he’ll have to beat Pribula out for sure. I envision us with a Dual QB system a la a texas from this season.

Pribula didn’t come here for any time in the bench. He had offers to start. I believe Mizzou told him they expected him to be the starter. He’ll have to earn it for sure, I just don’t think beating Horn out will be too hard.

He looks very mobile. Like a poor man’s Milroe. Seems to have a weird habit of lifting his back foot while driving the ball instead of planting and throwing. Haven’t seen much evidence of a good down the field passer. Regardless, most of the top QBs in the portal passed on Mizzou so good job at getting the best one who wants to play here. I think he can be effective with solid play calling designed to his strengths.

Pribula by all accounts was in Mizzou’s Plan A list with Fernando Mendoza and Miller Moss. He just entered the portal after Miller Moss did

@ first criteria for a Plan A is who you’re able to get. Surely they would have loved to get a dozen or so higher rated QBs. They were not interested in Mizzou. Most SEC schools who got a transfer in this year’s portal got a higher ranked one that Mizzou. We’ll see how it plays out. I think Pribula can win here.

Same price as Mendoza. He was ready to commit, but Mendoza wanted to wait, so Mizzou took Beau’s commitment. Also Georgia came in at the last minute and Mizzou wanted to avoid a bidding war
