@@eonember285 I'm a year late but in case you're still confused or anyone else is I'll give a very short rundown of the SCP universe. SCP stands for Secure. Contain. Protect. In the SCP universe there is an organization known as the SCP Foundation which works in secret to contain and study any anomalous entities. Anamolies could consist of pretty much anything that is abnormal. They can be viruses like in this video, monster like creatures, humanoid entities, events or creatures capable of ending the world, and even inanimate objects. They don't have to be harmful to humans, they just need to be anomalous to be contained by the foundation. There are thousands of differnet anomalies that are catalogued in the SCP foundation website. In universe, very few people know that the Foundation exists and they are extremely powerful. They can work with governments from countries around the world to contain anomalies and to keep them secret from the public.

If memory serves me correctly, SCP 610 is thought to be a creation of Yaldabaoth. SCP 217 is thought to be a creation of Mekhane. As those two gods are enemies, a 610 creature exposed to 217 would either not be affected, or be destroyed. And vice versa.

610 and 217 are essentially two versions of the same thing. They're very clearly manifestations of Yaldabaoth and Mekane, however, Mekane values intelligence and higher thought, so it's strange that something seemingly spawned from him would strip that from an infected individual. This leads me to believe that 217 is actually a creation of Anderson Robotics, a group that has seemingly harnessed Mekane's power for their own benefit, bastardizing his intentions.

It's more accurate to say these two are vastly different. 610 seems to be under the complete control of Yaldabaoth, trying to push the world into a sarcic one that ends up unleashing her. 217 seems to be the blood that Mekane bled as she broke to become the prison of Yaldabaoth. Unlike 610 it's not organized, thinking or following a purpose and instead it turns a host it binds to into clockwork, possibly the result of a repair protocol of Mekane's nanite blood that attempts to "repair" the host.

the clockwork virus could also possibly be an unprecedented form of lysogenic virus, wherein it integrates its own genetic information in the host genome. in the case of the clockwork virus, the viral genome actually radically alters gene expression in the host cell and results in conversion to the seemingly mechanical cells seen in later stages. i'd compare this, vaguely, to the HeLa cell line, where HPV tried to integrate into the cervical cells of its host but ended up scrambling itself and creating an immortal super-cancer.

Fantastic analysis, I to have always wondered what would come of an interaction between the flesh that hates and the clock work virus. More interesting an infected patient containing the 217 virus exposed itself to SCP 212 "The Improver" which in the data log seemed to increase the infected's metal capacity as it requested status as an SCP granted this ended in it "liquidation" i believe was the term used. Either way really interesting analysis I always felt that nano machine was a more accurate descriptor rather than virus. LOVE the SCP analysis and I would LOVE to hear an explanation of SCP 682, 096, and 049!!

Just a heads up, the classification of an SCP (Safe, Euclid, Keter, Thaumiel, etc.) usually refers to the ability of this entities to breach containment, by example safe is an SCP you can put in a box and everything should be fine, Euclid is you put it in a cell and sometimes might try to scape but can easily, or somewhat easily, be re-contained. They too can be classified by the danger they pose, depending on the object it is. At least the last time I checked it was like that.

We usually see these SCP's for their horror/fantasy value and little more... But keep in mind, several writers in the community are INSANELY talented and are capable of writing entries as deep psychological metaphors masked by the mandatory clinical/technical flavorings. I strongly believe that this SCP in particular is meant as an allegory for workplace depression brought on by a repetitive, boring job. The slow transformation to a mechanical being is the literal manifestation of falling into a depressed rut in life (of which external signs can take years to show). The disease's infectivity corresponds to the way depression and boredom changes the afflicted's perspective on everyone else, making others seem less alive and more machine-like even as they feel the same for the depressed person. The afflicted's disinclination toward creative tasks is basically one-to-one with the disease's real-life analog leeching away creative inspiration (and is in my opinion the saddest and scariest part, probably the author's cry for help...) Seriously, this is one of the most well-wrought and kafkaesque SCP's I've ever read. There are others with a similar theme, such as SCP 254 and 414. The allegory might be obvious in this one, but other SCP's have a more nuanced psychological metaphor behind them. For example, SCP 35 serves as an illustration of spiraling mental degredation and deep psychosis brought on by exposure to violent media. It's interesting to read SCP's with this sort of metaphor in mind. Edgar Allen Poe was the real genius in psychological metaphor and it's clear many SCP writers got their inspiration from him.

hey,just so you know,a keter class scp does not mean dangerous.keter,euclid and safe are used for classifying how difficult it is to contain something. If you lock it in a box, leave it alone, and nothing bad will happen, then it's probably Safe. If you lock it in a box, leave it alone, and you're not entirely sure what will happen, then it's probably Euclid. If you lock it in a box, leave it alone, and it easily escapes, then it's probably Keter. the reason this disease is considered a keter class is because 80% of the population could have it and the foundation would never know,making containment borderline impossible if there was a scp that was a simple normal button that when pressed erased all of existence,it would easily be considered safe,since they could just lock it in a giant iron vault,dig it into some hole in the ground and no person would ever come in contact with it

Now THIS is a both a freaky SCP and a good video. 10/10. As for the question of how it would fare against SCP-610... that is a good question that should probably never be physically explored for the sake of humanity. Though, I can imagine the underground complex of 610's containment area slowly being overtaken by clockwork, and the clockwork areas likewise being slowly overtaken. Who knows, maybe putting them together would force evolutionary responses from both infections at an exponential rate? Imagine if the bio-machinery 217 produces becomes more advanced over time, clockwork giving way to wires and servos. Both infections would probably begin infecting organic materials at breakneck speeds as they evolved, each one trying to outpace the other. On their own, both 217 and 610 are containable to some extent. Put them together though...

A bit off topic, but I am curious. Are you going to do any of the aliens from the XCOM series? (Sectoid, Muton, ADVENT Trooper, etc.)
