Is it common to ask in this type of interview to ask about pricing and discounts I was recently asked if a customer wanted to pay for 3 years upfront on an annual subscription, what discount should I give them ? Felt strange that this type of questions does not realy belong to this interview, thoughts ?

Pricing questions are not super common in PM interviews BUT they can come up. One of the challenges (and fun parts!) of PM roles is that it touches every aspect of the company from outbound sales to bug triaging with engineering. So what a PM thinks about a discounting strategy is fair game and advice would be to setup a framework where you think about the tradeoffs of a little less money upfront vs. security of a 3 year contract
