Worst case of this is probably Dying Light. By the time I met the final boss, I was the literal grim reaper; I was a fucking monster with about 50000 decapitated zombies, mutants and goons under my belt, and this fucking one armed douche with a bullet hole in his side kicks my ass in a super shitty QTE event. Like fuck this. The way I've been going, this twat should have jumped off the building to make it quicker once he realised he'll have to fist fight me.

I know I am part of the Problem, but I like the Far Cry Games. They are very satisfaying fast and repetive action with decent enough storys. I bought New Dawn for 39 bucks and didn´t regret it. It was fun to travel with my boar through the colorful post apocalyptic world.
@blackhawks81H5 жыл бұрын
Dude, that's not part of the problem. You've got exactly the right attitude. If you enjoy a game, buy it, and have fun. If you don't enjoy a game/series, just don't buy those and let the people who do like them buy them. The big problem is people who buy games, complain about them, keep buying them, keep complaining, and then get the games ruined for the core fan base that truly just enjoyed them for what they were. For me, the last couple farcry games have been the best, simply because my cousin and I used to play games together nonstop when we were younger. We're getting a bit old these days and don't have the time to play as often as we used to. These games have amazing co-op and that's the big draw for us. Being able to get together and do an entire campaign together is amazing. In a fairly linear story type game, it's OK, but it's over, and then that's it. These games are pretty much full open world co-op. We can hop in a chopper and just go nuts for an hour if we want in between actual missions. We live quite far from each other now, aster growing up less than a mile apart. Both only children, so he's practically my brother. Any game that allows us to get together, even if it's just online, and do our own thing, is something that brings a shitload of happiness to the both of us.... And that's incredibly important given how a lot of the rest of our lives have gone the last few years. The sad thing is, I'm sure there are probably plenty of people who'd gladly take that away from us because they want "more plot depth" or whatever silly shit happens to float that particular persons boat.

Me too. The twins were the least threating and really underdeveloped which sucks since I really wanted to know more, but Father Joseph got even better with the story continueing. I love the direction of the apocalypse, a very punk design is cool, the weapons look really great and mangled together to fit the atmosphere, but the RPG mechanics isn't really that deeo and way to simple since enemmy AI doesn't changr between levels. It would've been cooler to have level 1 be completely reckless and stand in the line of fire while the top being 3 and king enemies deploy better strategy and flank more constantly instead of a constant one we got. The Outpost recycling for better resources and Ethanol is cool and brings an excentive for doing so and leads you to make that risks, and expeditions is the greatest addition to the game. I love it. Seeing areas like Golden Gate Bridge on Alcatraz, The Theme park, and the area where Sam Fisher campes out in is great. I enjoy the melancholy feeling I got when I wander the open wirld since its brings back lots of memories of 5 and seeing some places are depressing. The photo side mission really shows that feeling a lot. Falls end, Rae Raes pumpkin farm, all that is hard to realize that this happened and Joesph was right. Really stings. I love that feeling in apocalyptic games, a glimpse or piece of the past, the old world that survived and your mind just connecting the dots. If this game was a part of the DLC in 5 or the Season pass, I still would've bought it, since you know Far Cry 3. Wished it had more time to blossom into something good to something great

Them bringing back the brutal take down animations was a real selling point to me. One of my biggest complaints about far cry 5 was while the game felt like it should be an M rated game, combat felt like it was from a rated T game. It more or less felt like I was shooting paper targets with an airsoft gun. Same with the melee takedowns, it felt very shallow, for example, I highly doubt anyone that I hit once in the back with a shovel was actually dead. So, the game getting more violent again was a great thing to see.
@N-GinAndTonicTM4 жыл бұрын
This game's takedowns were brilliant. I'm surprised they didn't have one where you'd run up to a guy with a shield, smash it backwards into his face to break his nose and then stab him.

@@Jarekthegamingdragon There are just a large number of people walking this earth who want nothing more than to ruin things for everyone else. They had a crappy childhood, their school broke up with them, their girlfriend beat them up, their dogs went through a nasty divorce, their bike didn't love them. Etc. They're miserable miserable people and they just cannot stand the thought of anyone else enjoying anything. Because of this, they make up some incredibly perfect fantasy version of a previous game In a series, in their imagination where the game is far more perfect than it was in real life, even if it was good, they remember it as PERFECT. But it's a fake memory, that's so good, nothing will ever come close to living up to the artificial construct that exists only in their heads. I've dubbed it "the new Vegas effect" because it's Probably the most visible example of it happening. Was new Vegas a great game? Sure it was. Was it so good that EVERY fallout game made for the rest of time "IS COMPLETE UNPLAYABLE SHIT, BRING BACK OBSIDIAN"? No. But to those people, that will always be the case. Bethesda could release a remastered new Vegas that was EXACTLY the same as the original in every way other than upgraded graphics and basic stuff like that, and those people would still find a way to shit all over it. Once they latch onto a past game with nostalgia vision... Its all over and they just want to trash anything else in the series and call everyone who does enjoy the newer games despite any flaws they may have, an idiot. Or a casual, or some other bullshit.

You can never please everybody. Nor should you try to. Far Cry 5 was my first game in the series, and I loved it. The ending was a bummer, but the journey to get there was a blast. I tried Primal, and found that it just wasn't for me. Far Cry New Dawn next, since I was curious about the RPG elements. It was fine, but I felt it was too short. I grinded the outposts like mad, and even then it only took me 20 hours to beat the story mode. It felt like there were like 10 story missions. Too short to truly enjoy, but hey, it's an expansion to 5, so I guess I shouldn't expect much. Playing through Far Cry 3 now, and it's pretty fun. I do wish the story was better. Like in Far Cry 5, I was invested in the story enough to want to get to the end. In this game, not so much. But still fun. I'm going to get to Far Cry 4 eventually, but I'm feeling like I need a break after 3.

Far Cry New Dawn made me appreciate Far Cry 5 more. I never really had a problem with FC5 ending but New Dawn gave it a satisfying conclusion. I love the rankings on enemies even though realistically it wouldn't make sense for people to be bullet sponges. It made the game harder especially those pink dudes. They can spot you immediately if you make a wrong move.

Mixed feelings about New Dawn. I loved FC5, my fav of the whole franchise. And I loved the familiar but different feel of the environment. It was sucessfully a 'different game'. I felt creeped out more, always looking over my shoulder. The familair but dilapidated buildings and towns gave it an ominous feel. I think most haters are upset it was a full price game instead of $20 DLC. It combined the base and progresional function of FC Primal with the RPG elements of Asassins Creed Origins and combined it with FC5 gameplay and mechanics... its an Ubi-Stein Monster lol. I still enjoyed it. It was neat to see Hope County post-apocalyptic and the Joseph Seed story saved the lameness ofnthe twins. My main complaint is the mission redundancy and the brutal animals. I been killed by pigs more than people lol. But thats Far Cry. Badgers are a bigger threat than a man w a gun. 🤣 Some of the side missions, like Nick Rye's wingless airplane escape, were unique and fun.

The judge is the rookie deputy from 5. They were slick to make judge only grunt and wear a mask and bulky clothes so they would be androgynous to keep it believable in case you chose one gender or another in your 5 playthrough. I don't know if I like the tier guns and enemies cuz all they did was replace grinding pelts for cash to buy what you wanted with grinding for multiple materials to "craft" better weapons. In the end it's just more grinding of various things. Because it was the apocalypse and money was obsolete, I get that components would be more valued. Hopefully the next Far Cry will return to the old method of procurement. And btw, I loved Far Cry Primal.

One thing I liked about New Dawn was the risk reward mechanic for outposts. Where if you wanted to get upgrades faster, you could choose to give up an outpost for some ethanol, and then have the ability to retake it for even more ethanol and resources. It was another new mechanic that worked, just like the RP system in Far Cry 5.

Well as a Transformers fan I guess I can admit I do wonder if there is a limit on how many times I can be resold Starscream, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron Grimlock and a few others over and over again since about 2006. That would be like rebooting Pokemon to year one every 3 years and removing any new pokeon from the franchise. At least Far Cry does at least attempt to do something new in every single game - it's just sometimes that something isn't enough for some people the UNIQUE Selling point isn't enough for some. In Transformers terms the USP at the moment is cross-comparability across product scales and making things have a mucky deco. People complained like crazy about the mucky deco - and I'm sure they will complain just as loudly when they stop having a mucky deco too. Just as people complained that New Dawn doesn't have Far Cry Arcade (I don't see that is a problem - I'm sure Arcade will return one day and more assets will be added eventually including the New Dawn ones). So in that respect I'm not sure you have to be completely different if the USP improves or the game play experience offers something fresh in some way - New Dawn does do that - but only really for those willing to deep dive. I know plenty of people who play Far Cry Arcade almost every day as there is so many maps now you have more than enough to play a new one every day.

Here's a fun little FC New Dawn tip: upgrading the Vector 45.acp and Gureilla Gear 44. magnum. The only elite weapon I use is the Lucky Shot compound bow (for upgrading it 10 times allows you to down enforcers with one arrow). I carry all Level III weapons (the vector 45.acp, 44. magnum, and the RAT4 to be exact). Upgrading the 45. vector allows you to shred through enemies. I upgraded it 100 times, and yeah, nothing stood a chance against it, not even monstrous animals.

Change doesn’t equal good, all I gotta say. I’m not a fan of New Dawn’s tier system, that completely demolished anything I liked about the game previously. Just personally, it’s crap. They should NEVER do it again, or give people the option to do this or not. I’ve played the other Far Cry’s on harder difficulties but this Tier system bugged me the most. Every weapon should be viable in its own right. I prefer the story based realism than the tier game system, I think it just adds a layer of bull that doesn’t need to exist. I can respect people liking it, adds the slight challenge that not every gun is gonna do the same amount of damage... but they could’ve made the Tier enemies look a lot tougher. I mean really? They get a leather vest and a Mask and suddenly my 1911 just makes them wince. That’s it? Even the toughest enemies, the enforcers, armor wise, don’t even compare to say Far Cry 3 and 4’s enemies.

(Edit: Walltext alert, worthwhile though if you remember the glory days of halo 2/halo3) Dude, you got this shit on lockdown. The moral of the story is, most people are assholes and even when the majority is satisfied, you end up with a vocal minority who shouts so loud it causes problems anyway. Some of the greatest memories of my younger days involve halo. During halo 2 and 3 years, I was around high school/college age. My cousin and I were Gods of multi-player. I was top 25 in the world ranked k/d and he was actually number 3 in the world at one point. We Still have the old vids saved up somewhere of us playing TSquared and Sn1p3d0wn and giving them a decent challenge (of course we still lost, those guys were the top pros at the time with huge sponsorship deals and shit) we spent countless.. COUNTLESS hours, all summer long, and any free time we had not at school or at work just racking up matches. Used to create a new 1 month account each month and see how many playlists we could get a 50 in, how many matches we could play in a row without taking a single loss. Usually at least 50+, depending on what playlists we focused on. Dubs and team BRs was best, having bad randoms on your team is less of a problem there because the two of us could pretty much run map control up until the 40s. I still to this day remember the strategy for every map. The pit? I'm rushing rockets and then heading straight for camo, while my cousin would go straight to snipe, camp tower, and snipe the other team as they came up the lift. Then head for over shield and loop back up for sword. He was good enough where even if someone else got sword first, he could no-scope a dude mid sword lunge coming right at him. Sometimes he'd snipe an entire opposing team out of the lift on various levels right at the start for an overkill extermination... Lots of times they'd immidiatiely quit... Lol good times... We even had rules where we'd play multi team, which was 4 teams of 2, and would play the whole game without firing a single shot. Only way we were allowed to get kills was with the "ninja" where you'd turn your back to someone, making them think they're about to get an easy beat down assassination.. At the last second you jump, they lunge under you, and you assassinate them which results in a weird animation looking like you just kicked them in the back of the head. We used to yell "TODD MORRISON" whenever we did this successfully (don't ask) so if anyone reading this comment remembers hearing TODD MORRRISON! after getting ninja'd in halo 3, nice to meet you, and sorry about that. Lol. Anyway. You can tell from how long I've rambled on, what amazing love I had for those games... And then came Reach. Day of the beta I had signs posted in my house saying "reach beta this way" we hopped on.... And.... WTF? WHAT IS THIS GROUND POUND SHIT? ARMOR ABILITIES? LOADOUTS? WTF? the series was ruined. Halo multi-player was ALWAYS at its core, what's called an "arena shooter" every player moves the same, jumps the same, has the same abilities, and same loadout at the beginning of the match dependent on game type. Without the ability to spam OP armor abilities, and always spawn with certain OP weapons, Halo lost its essence. It lost what made it halo. Which was that all players were equal, who won or lost was dependent on two things. 1. Teamwork, map control was everything, knowing what power weapons to rush, and how to get there fastest was huge. You'd completely dominate uncoordinated teams who all rushed say, rockets, and left snipe, etc open. 2. Skill. When it came to higher level matches, where both teams knew map control, you'd often arrive at power weapons at the same time. The only thing that can save you now is your skills with a BR... 4 shotting someone was best possible. Hard to pull off, but almost guaranteed you a win. 5 shot was more standard for high level players. Doing little strafes, ghandi hopping, and dancing around like a fool to try and make the other guy miss one shot, because if he did you had him. Granted you had to somehow maintain near perfect accuracy while doing so. But that was where the skill came in. No cheap armor ability would save you, it was Mano y Mano, your hand eye coordination and hand dexterity, vs the other guys. It was so goddamn pure and really rewarded the top skilled players the most. The "cock of doody" elements in the new games closed that skill gap, and made kids who spammed cheap crap able to hang with guys who honed their skills through years of practice. Bullshit. We woild play 20 custom games every day just BR battling and snipe no scope battling each other to warm up before matchmaking. For the better part of a decade, Just so some kid could spam armor lock? Fuuuck that. They fucked over their most loyal fans, and got what they deserved because of it. The story in halo games was also one of my favorites. Even read the books. Couldn't wait for each game.. Ended up so disillusioned by the multi-player, such a huge part of my life, having gone to shit, that the last game i Even got just for the campaign was halo 4... Just lost interest totally since. The peolle who bitch about games "staying the same" don't only ruin game franchises, but shit all over numerous childhood and adolescent memories. Thanks dicks. Thanks for making it so NOBODY can have a nice thing simply because you're bitter, unloved, spergs, who have to fucking ruin everything for everyone else just because you're miserable. Walltext.... Out

With all of that said, Halo 5's MP is absolutely amazing and properly brought back the classic halo feel.

My biggest criticism about FC5 is that the story felt rushed and half-baked. The far cry gameplay is fine

Thank you bud!!! I get SO tired of haters screaming louder than the fans. I adore far cry and eagerly buy EVERY title...yes...I enjoyed Primal, fight me! I think more people enjoy this franchise BUT are too busy playing it to scream. And to critics...F@@K 'em. They just wish they were political correspondents so much so that if they can't find elements to support their political views (Far Cry 5) they cry. Good on ya for this video M8!
