I'm still struggling to understand your peoblem with Twiight becoming an Alicorn. Twilight has been doing pretty much everything since episode 1; she saved the world multiple times, she learned about magic and friendship just like Celestia told her to do, she overcame many of her personal problems etc, so logicly she should get some sort of reward. Being elevated to Monarch status is a pretty big reward, wouldn't you say? So it's not like it came out of absolutly nowhere. And we've seen that her new status doesn't put her above any of her friends in the show (although she is the *main* charecter), she never showed any signs of being a "Mary Sue" and, in fact, while her charecter obviously went through some change, it's nothing too major and it doesn't affect the slice of life aspects of the show. So I must ask again: What is the problem here?

It's because people believe alicorns to be immortal (sometimes god-like creatures). Which can be back up by Celestia & Luna, having been around for centuries, and having the power that they do. However to have alicorns that don't fit-in to this it, well it breaks this belief for someone. Though personally I don't see the issue. You can still have Celestia & Luna as immortal. This would just mean there are two different kinds of alicorns. Ones who are born and those who are created. But I can also understand how not everyone can be as accepting of that. *shrugs* and it's not like just anypony can become one. It took having a lot of power, and a lot of work for Cadance & Twilight to get where they are now.

I think KP, that you are wrong. Twilight became an alicorn because of her narratively grand destiny and role. Cadance did nothing whatsoever as to her transformation, and that advice and story she gave n Twi's was just helpful and convenient advice. Also, artificial alicorns just have a bit more power and a somewhat longer lifespan, so its nothing too significant. Horsehoe man was still hilarious and funny, but it was a cute video nonetheless!!!

AnimeWolfgamer But they take away the Mysterious Semi-Divine nature of the Royal Pony Sisters. (Which are infinitely more interesting characters than Princess Merchandising/Beverly Hills and Captain "Dude" Tin Armor.) Now I don't mind that Twilight turned into an Allicorn. (Or attempted, but ultimately failed Demi-God.) If Twilight had finished the Spell and then searched the Mystery of "Why even create such a thing?" then it would have driven Twilight more as a Scientist. Leading to a Journey into the vast and possibly incredible world surrounding Equestria. What I don't get is the implication that Celestia planned this. That is too much power for anypony to manage Celestia, she is too young. It could have potentially killed her! Now I love the Sun Goddess, Mother of All Things, Beacon of All That Is Good that she is meant to be. So why entrust her with such a thing in the middle of Ponyville and put other ponies lives at risk! Twilight turned a Bird into a Frankesteinian horror............... I'm done. I don't know if I made this point before KP but there's a difference between maturing and aging. Those two things before occur during the lifespan of an individual creature, but they are actually two distinct biological things. Maturity is caused by hormones released at adolescence and continues until the animal reaches the "adult" state. Aging occurs over the course of one's life, even during childhood, and is marked by the degeneration of cell division as organs breakdown due to vital chunks of DNA being lost to mistakes in the cell division process. There is no reason the evidence of the former doesn't mean that alicorns are also vulnerable to the latter. Alicorn magic is distinctly mentioned to be distinct from JUST a combination of the three tribes magic. If Celestia and Luna were magically different from Twilight and Cadance's the transfer in Twilight's Kingdom wouldn't have worked. Thus regardless of how Luna and Celestia were born their abilities are the same as the "artificial" alicorns. It even looks like there's an alicorn life cycle if you contrast the character designs of the four. Twilight is an immature alicorn with a relatively normal body build and less curly wings. Cadance is lets say a "teenage" alicorn with the standard alicorn body but a normal mane. Luna and Celestia are true "adult" alicorns which have mastered their magic and thus have glowy manes Twilight gains this same kind of mane immediately after the magic transfer indicating that it might be a product of raw magic as well). Look at Cadance in the flashback, she looks like she has a similar build to Twilicorn.

Sandwhale Gaming  You are confusing aging "Will grow old and die", with "maturing to adulthood." Teenage Cadence turning into an adult means only that alicorns can grow up. Like Elves in Lord of the Rings. They grow up from babies into adults similar to humans (they are just not considered "grown up" until 100 years old). So they can be thousands of years old and still look like they are in their 20's. So no. Show doesn't say that Twilight and Cadence will grow old and gray.

I do also feel that since cadence was twilights foal sitter that maybe it had more of a reason for why an alicorn had to babysit a future alicorn as well
