KP, I respect your opinion, but please explain to me why the shipping between Discord and Celestia makes any sense? All I hear from most bronies is that Dislestia makes more sense than fluttercord, but nobody has ever offered me ONE valid reason why that is. Take in mind, I never read any of the mlp comics. However, based on what we've seen in the show, there's never been any kind of romantic implications between those two characters before outside of that one scene at the season 4 finale. If anything, fluttercord makes more sense from a narrative perspective, when you take what we've seen from the actual show so far. Fluttershy was the first character that truly accepted Discord for who he is. She was the one that became the first pony that he actually grew to care about. They write letters to each other all the time, and they actually talk to each other. Again, maybe it's different in the comics, but I can't recall any time when Discord and Celestia ever talked to each other in the show. Can you think of a time when they talked on the show together? therefore, I honestly don't think dislestia makes any sense. Most bronies keep boasting about how dislestia is the only true shipping that's likely to happen in the show, but how? Give me one valid reason why i should believe that, and please don't tell me any head cannons or fanfics because those don't count as cannon material; regardless of what anyone says. Don't get me wrong, I personally wouldn't mind if Discord and Celestia did date in the series. If anything, I'd welcome the change, as long as it was set up to make sense. And, there was proper build up to it, but if they do decide to have them date immediately in the season 5 opener for instance with little to no buildup other than what we've seen so far...then im sorry. but to me, that's just going to come off as nothing more than a contrived love story set up for no other reason than to appease hardcore fans. Fluttercord from a narrative perspective makes more sense given what we've seen from the show thus far; hence if the writers had them shipped in the season 5 opener, then it wouldn't come off as a contrived plot device.

The comics are known as "B-canon". The show it's self is "A-canon" which means both are canon but if there are any contradictions the show takes priority so everything in the comics is canon as long as the show doesn't say otherwise.

EleanorTopsie Celestia's character in the show is quite one-dimensional which is why I like her character in the comics so much better. She is shown to be more pensive and wise having learned from her past mistakes. I am also very susceptible to sappy drama/romance and stood little chance against the feels felt while reading the Celestia/Sombra comic arc xD.

I really don't like Fluttercord. They're a cute pair as friends I'll admit, but romantically, I don't really see anything there. Not to mention Discord is thousands of years older than Flutter and will most likely outlive her. (Which will be sad enough with them just being close friends) I think Celestiacord has more potential because they are complete opposites (one is the being of Chaos and the other is essentially the being of Order), Celestia seems to have a lot of trust in Discord despite his history, and seeing as they're both immortal, neither one will outlive the other. Plus, they fan-art of them is soooo cute! :D

I don't ship anypony (or Discord) with Fluttershy because I hate her enough to act like she doesn't even exist in the show. But Dislestia, besides that finale scene, has almost zero moments in the episodes. Mostly, they don't even talk unless Discord is doing crap again and Celestia must call the Mane 6 to make everything go back to normal. The fact that I don't really like Celestia doesn't help either.

One second she's a wimp, then she is brave to help her friends, then comes back to being a wimp. 2) 80% of her episodes have the same lesson over and over. 3) Everywhere I go in this fandom, everyone sees her as ""the best pony"" and criticizes ponies who are much more interesting and have a lot more to their background. 4) She reminds me of myself. I used to be a doormat too, but while I helped other people, I didn't have anyone to help me. Her social status doesn't look real to me. 5) After Flutter Brutter, when FINALLY after the same lesson again and again she became more assertive, her only character flaw (being too timid) is going away. In the end, with her only visible flaw gone, there's a giant possibility she will become a Mary Sue, and I'm afraid it could put MLP's quality very low. 5.5) You could say she has more flaws, but this is the one only recognized by most of the brony fandom and the little girls. Her ""best ponee" status in the fandom erases any possible flaw she could have, and takes her shyness as a quality. That's why she's called ""waifu material"". I'll not change my opinion. She is my most hated character in all tv shows I've ever seen. You can argue with all the reasons I've just said, but I won't answer it. Honestly, I didn't think that was a shipping scene at all. He had TWO bouquets there, one for Celestia, and the other, perhaps, for Luna. I do believe that IS in the form of apology. Back when castle mane-ia came out she live tweeted it (like she has does with many episodes) and at that scene where rarity scares rainbow by reaching out from the wall and grabbing her and rainbow says "AJ if you're scared you can just say it, no need to put your hoof around me" Meghan tweeted "AJ's hoof around her? Wishful thinking on Rainbow Dash's part #MLPSeason4" Also on a slight deviation Ashleigh Ball posted some AppleDash on her Facebook page for national pride day. It seems the staff are particularly aware of the AppleDash ship and seem to like it (sort of)

The moral of the story is: never, ever, EVER ask the show staff about your ship. Think about how you'll feel if you get the "wrong" answer, which is probably what they'll have to say anyhow, and then don't ask that question. This wouldn't have become such an issue if it hadn't been teased on Facebook and so many Dislestia shippers hadn't hoped so hard for confirmation. Next time, don't ask. Really.

Discord and Celestia Shipping makes more sense since they are both over 1000 years old.. Any relationship Celestia or Discord got into with any other "normal" character would seem almost pedophilia in nature. with such a huge age difference. Unless you add Luna to the mix, but things really get weird then.

Fluttercord just seems so incompatible. Pinkiecord makes more sense based on personality alone (although there's no show canon to back it up). But Discord and Celestia? Oh man. That's it. That's it right there. Makes perfect sense. 10/10. Would recommend.
