For example: Light Yagami from Death Note is an excellent example of a villain-protagonist

vergil being weak and fragile probably bcs mundus losing. Cause the same as V,once V gone the three nightmare is gone too. And we know mundus own vergil body,and give him new one. So maybe once mundus defeated,vergil is also losing his power cause he is connected with mundus power,maybe

I think they are the two sides of the same coin, both are lovable characters with straight opposite personalities~ And I don't think there is anything wrong with Dante's writing, its just we as the audience don't have much to go on to interpret him, cause he doesn't really have a specific goal, so we don't really understand his motivations - I speculated in the previous video that he lacks motivation to go out and achieve anything, and the only thing that brings him out is Vergil and wanting to have fun - he is like an empty body without mind if Vergil is not around -And Dante starts off as an arrogant and immature child in the beginning who doesn't care about others around him or family, but by the end of dmc 3, he grows and matures up, to the point HE IS THE ONE who tries to talk SENSE into Vergil and points out his immature side - so in dmc 3 he is actually an amazing and adorable character
