Hmm… when I saw hitches cutiemark I thought instantly to shining armour. He had stars around his shield whereas hitch has hearts around his. That might mean that hitch is the ‘brute force’ of the group in a sense, like Rainbowdash.

I agree. He might be a protective or an overprotective brother or a captain, a leader, a knight or a sherif. A shield has a lot of possibilities. The shield might represent his protectiveness or overprotectiveness and the hearts might represent his love, his love for his sister if he’s a knight his love for the kingdom etc. or even love for his significant other if he has a significant other. But if he is a overprotective brother I would like him to be less overprotective overtime

I 100% agree with that. But after hearing about how he could also maybe be carrying some type of crusader role, I think it would also be cool to see that side of him as well, instead of just being a confident strong stallion, he could also be hiding that he secretly does crusader things, or maybe he doesn’t hide it and is very prideful of his ways. But honestly if I had to pick, even though Izzy so far is my favorite character in G5 I’m most excited for Hitch seeing as he’s the first male pony to be a main character, and I wonder how they will do his character

It might be an odd conclusion but Izzy's cutie mark might not be about her being a designer/seamstress. The heart might be referring to her having a big heart while the button and pins represent her desire to bring ponies together, patch up relationships, and maybe even bring ponykind back together like twilight sparkle and the main 6 did.

True, but don't be so quick to think the new show won't be good. The Mane6 didn't get to fully explore their personalities until parts of the 1st season since they started out a little stereotypical at first glance (the girly one, the tomboy one, the booksmart one, the bubbly one, etc.) but it was when they got episodes to showcase them that they got to show their personalities.

I've came up with this theory of Izzy being actually a descendant of Flurry Heart. They both have curly manes with gradient, Izzy has a shape of a heart as a cutie mark and on top of that she's a unicorn with a unique horn. Perhaps, such horn appearance is a side effect of alicorns losing touch with the magic. Also, the book we saw in the first image might not be an actual Friendship Journal, but rather a scouting journal. I don't know why no one pointed this out, but Sunny has badges. Every each of them represents the element of harmony. She might have gotten them by making it through some challenges as a scout. So, I'm almost certain that she will be the one to know how to deal with certain dangerous situations. Also, Sunny StarSCOUT. Hitch Trailblazer may also be the one who will come up with the idea of bringing back magic into the world, basing on the actual description of the word 'Trailblazer' *“A Trailblazer is a pioneer, somebody who's willing to take risks and go in a path that isn't already there. They blaze a trail and leave a path for others.”* Plus, IMO, Pipp is going to be the friendliest pony basing on her name (Petals), while Zipp will most likely treat coldly the main characters. We will see if anything I've come up with will turn out to be true...

Pipp looks like the type of pony that enjoys singing every once in a while, so I don’t think her cutie mark being related to music is too far off. There are a lot of shows that have had princesses that sing to crowds, so I think that’s a possibility. Same with Hitch and Izzy’s cutie marks. The MLP staff seem like they’re trying to make as many connections to Friendship Is Magic in whatever little way they can, and doing that with cutie marks to me is downright clever.

For the pegasi sisters... Of course it's more likely to just be a design choice, but what if the placement of the crowns in their cutie marks indicate what they value more? Pipp's is inside the musical note, so perhaps she values her music more than being a princess. The first look of her being her scrolling through her phone certainly gives me that sort of vibe. And for Zipp, the crown is above the lightning bolt. Maybe she values being a princess (or rather, her duty as part of the royal family) above everything else. Again, the first look we got of her definitely feels that way to me. Just a thought.

I'm gonna now tell my theories of these cutie marks, simply what I think might be the case Firstly, I wanna just say that I'm assuming that since there's no magic currently that they won't have there cutie marks since the beginning but get them throughout the movie as somehow for them the magic comes back, I'm not gonna talk about how they might do that tho but about how they would get their cutie marks maybe So imma begin with Sunny, I think she will get her cutie mark simply because of the reasons of her finding magic within herself or her friends. Stars have been always somehow connected. It might as well be that, since it's a shooting star, she will find a wish throughout the movie which in some way gives her the cutie mark. For Izzy I've two ideas how she might get her cutie mark. Either she will actually use her creativity to create something important in the movie when it's extremely needed OR she will get it by helping her friends. Maybe her friends get into a huge argument, maybe the sister or maybe Sunny and Hitch since those all seem close to each other, or maybe not the ones that already seem to have known each other before the story starts, and then Izzy with her bubbly personality finds some fun way to bring her friends back together "sewing" their bond. For Hitch I don't really think that he will get his cutie mark in some crusader way. I think the shield with the hearts is more of a way to show that he protects those dear to him. And in that way I like to imagine him getting his cutie mark by saving his long time friend, Sunny, who I don't really think is his sister because of two reasons, one they would've been on that siblings day thingy and two I don't think they would leave Izzy as the only one without a sibling in the new mane5. I think that she will probably get into a lot of dangerous trouble and hitch ends up having to protect/safe her, maybe some of the others are with her as well. Maybe this ends up having to do something with how Izzy gets her cutie mark as well. It would be quite a nice way to show that he cares a lot even tho he seems to have a rather prideful personality in some ways. With Zipp I'm honestly less sure of my theory than with the other three. But I think she might get her cutie mark through having to race fast. Maybe she abandons the others and then after something happens she will race back to the others while her cutie mark appears. Pipp I think might get her cutie mark through actual music. I don't know in what kind of scenario exactly because a lot of different stuff can be done with music. She might actually use her voice to do something magical or play some magical instruments that she found or simply nothing much magical. Maybe that moment will have something to do with how Zipp gets her cutie mark as well like maybe Zipp remembers the moment of Pipp getting her cutie mark and maybe she left the others of the mane5 because she noticed that her sister is capable of herself now, since she seems like the overprotective type. Well- That's all that I've I wonder if any of that will become true in the slightest xD

My favorite cutie marks are Pipp's and Zipp's. The crown in both of them to show they are both royalty. Zipp's reminds me of Rainbow Dash's cutie mark for sure, and she is my favorite from Generation 4. Pipp's being a music logo, that looks interesting to see what that might mean for her character. While a callback to the CMC would be awesome, I'm hoping that hitch's mark and badge both point him to being a lawpony. Given the tense state of law enforcement in our modern day, having a law Pony as part of the group could make for some very interesting lessons, especially if Hitch has to deal with a fellow law Pony who might be misusing their position.

One thing I noticed about Hitch's cutie mark is that the shield was the same shape as Shining Armour and Flash Sentry's shields on their marks. very different shape from the shield on the CMC marks. This with the aspect of his badge could mean that he is a protector type. And given that earth ponies are crazy strong due to a combination of their lifestyle and the nature of their magic, I'd say he might play a Rockhoof-esque role in the group only with a (potentially) more fleshed out personality based on his central standing in the cast.

Maybe it's a tad unusual, but the close up of their faces at the end has me appreciate that their eyes are more proportional in size than the generation 4 ponies. With the 3D design, they can retain a lot of the "cute" aspects and visual representation of emotions in different ways without having to exaggerate their eye size quite as much. When it comes to the shield on hitch's cutie mark, it kind of reminds me of a cross between Flash Sentry and Shining Armor. The coloring looks like Flash, his body build comes closer to Shining Armor, but both deal with guarding and the royal guard.

Izzy may have the same fashion dream of Rarity, but I think she might have the funny personality of Pinkie Pie. Hitch could maybe be a descendent of Pipe Squeak, who was small and unsure of himself at first, but now has the bravery and coolness of Flash Sentry. Zipp and Pipp may have rhyming names, but they don't look identical like most twins do.

I would say my favorites in terms of cutie marks would be with Izzy, Pipp, and especially Hitch's (which looks cool in general). Here is what I think they might represent Sunny (THE main character of all main characters) = The very thing that will bring in a new golden age for Equestria despite the new odds. Hitch = He is either carrying on the work of the cutie mark crusaders or that cutie mark relates to him wanting to become a guard, sheriff, or be his own form of a protector for many. Izzy = Is talented with fabrics (though doesn't have the same dream of having her own boutique) and is generally bubbly. Pipp (likely the younger sister) = Either loves singing, is the best singer in all of Equestria, or is quite the talented one with instruments. Zipp (elder sister) = Wants to be a worthy successor to Rainbow Dash and her own no-nonsense attitude helps adds to her strength.

I'm so excited for g5! 😍 It definitely took me a while to get used to, but I'm quite fond of the 5 we have so far. Something I found a little weird though is that Izzy's cutie mark looks like it has to do with sewing- though I took her for more of the pinkie pie of the group. Pip does look excitable though, I wonder if there will be 2 optimistic ponies this time. Maybe Izzy is going to be more of a free spirit, while Pip is royalty, so she might be raised to try to keep a calmer demeanor. I wonder who the sixth will be, if there will be any at all...

Well, at least G5 isn't going to be cutie mark-less. But, don't cutie marks require at least some magic? So is magic in future Equestria gone or just suppressed to the point of seeming like it's gone? It might be interesting if one of the things Izzy can do is make some sort of low level magic happen, not enough to be practical, but enough to reveals magic isn't actually lost, and this sparks the mane 5 to want to restore it, if only the other ponies would stop laughing at the idea, or trying to suppress it with tennis balls...

I think that the magic is extremely suppressed and that it will probably take the new mane5 doing what they will get their cutie marks for to get at least some magic back Maybe together with what you came up with Izzy could use a bit of magic after the first one gets a cutie mark or she herself gets her cutie mark and the more magic is kinda set free/restored the more magic she can use I think that would also be a good way to get her to slowly get used to having magic

When I saw Zipp's cutie mark, I was reminded of the Wonderbolts, so she also might be a big fan of Rainbow Dash, and want to follow in her footsteps. With Pipp, I can see her going down that path because she might not be as strong of a flyer as Zipp.

Didn't Shining Armor's cutie mark have a shield too? With a star inside it! I think that was more of the look the creators were going for, which would definitely point to Hitch becoming part of the royal guard. As for the hearts, Hitch seems to be a bit flirtatious. Assuming that Sunny and Hitch are friends and not siblings, he does seem to sorta flirt with her by nudging her aside in their character reveal. It could also mean he's more caring than most Royal Guards, as he goes back to help Sunny when she falls over.

Hitch is a protector for certain. The shield standing tall over the small, meek hearts, the up-turned horseshoe symbolizing good luck in his endeavors, and, while they may be small, the tiny hearts protected by the shield offer warmth and kindness to those he offers his protection to.

Maybe they are not Cutie Mark's maybe there just Tattoos for now to make them a form off the Cutie Mark Crusaders but doing more stuff then them like bringing Pony's back together and bringing back magic. So, personality wise, here's how it compares to me: 1. Sunny- Twilight: Main character. 2. Izzy - Pinkie pie & Rarity: Bubbly & outgoing, kind of a comic relief 3. Hitch - Apple jack: The more serious one, who wants to play by the rules & make an honest living 4. Zipp - Rainbow dash: Brave & out there, rebellious spirit 5. Pipp - Fluttershy: More reserved, happy to do as the queen suggests. More outgoing once comfortable though! I think it'll be interesting to see how they differentiate them from the original main 6, and to see them develop further

I don't think it's fair to compare old characters to new ones in a 1-to-1 way like this. They should be able to stand as their own character. Sunny - much more outgoing and sociable than Twilight, especially in S1, more composed and less bookish Izzy - strong Pinkie Pie vibes, I agree on that. We have yet to see if she is the same kind of social butterfly, though. Her leaving her home to find a friend in Maretime Bay suggests otherwise. Hitch - I think he stands very much on his own. Without relying on his code and authority as Sheriff he is much more self-conscious and skittish than AJ. Zipp - Headstrong, yes. Full of energy, yes. Brave/reckless, that is yet to see. She also seems to be less of a braggart than Dashie - and as royalty, she'd have every right. Pipp - I don't see Fluttershy in her at all - and she's the one left by process of elimination anyway. She basks in the glory and (social media) clout of her status as both princess and star singer. If anything, she's more like a genuine version of Coloratura's "Countess" persona.

There's also the fact Pipp apparently tells her mother everything, and in the aftermath of the heist the thing she was most angry about wasn't her show getting ruined or her flying being exposed as fake, but rather that her own sister abandoned her. One could maybe argue she's all about LOYALTY.
