This song holds a big place in my soul. I have vivid memories from about 5 years ago. of feeling hopeless. singing along to those lyrics. its surreal to think about how much of a better place I am now compared to then! sometimes its hard to listen to it because it reminds me of those times, but its so raw and full of emotion. I couldn't thank Twenty One Pilots enough for getting me thru highschool.

Yeah about Tyler being a tortured soul... I wonder if baby Rosie has helped him with that. The love of his baby hopefully brought that special light onto his life? Hope so. But apparently he still struggles at night. There was an interview after Rosie was born that he said he still sleepless at night, as always, but now it's really beneficial cause he takes 'night-shift' with Rosie allowing his wife to sleep.

Anathema is one of my favorites, despite how long the intro drags/repeats itself and it ending so abruptly. (Also there’s video of top performing this song with Josh singing backup vocals and Tyler playing drums it’s wicked) The ONLY reason this album isn’t more beloved is that the audio quality is so shit. All of the RAB songs that got remastered for Vessel are SO GOOD! I wish they’d just remaster the rest of them 😭

Absolutely one of my favs from RAB. The way I take that last bit of the song is as follows: “Empty sky? No way, that’s me. Cause one half of my heart is free.” He’s pretty much answering himself that the sky isn’t empty and it’s just his thoughts because he knows he’s free/has his faith. “Empty sky? No way that’s me. Cause the other half of my heart’s asleep.” Here he’s confirming that there’s no way that it’s just him thinking there’s no higher being because he still has half a heart in disbelief (because of whatever he may have gone through where god didn’t show up). Reading his responses to “empty sky” with altered punctuation changed my perception a bit. Either way, killer enough of a rap for him to reuse it from Blasphemy. 🤘🏼

I think the 'Chorus' following Verse 1 relates to the lyrics in Migraine: "Test being tested by a ruthless examiner that's represented best by my depressssssssing thoughts, I do not have a writer's block; my writer just hates the clock. It will not let me sleep, I'll get some sleep when I'm dead, and sometimes death seems better than the migraine in my head." Now that I think of it, really the entrie song relates to these lines.

Whenever you do eventually react to Lovely, there is actually a version that was put on Vessel, although not all countries have it, it’s on KZbin, also he remade a song of his off of No Phun Intended called Save. So Save and Lovely remastered. Very good

Stuffi idk if you know but the Car Radio, Holding On to You, Trees, Guns for Hands, and Ode to Sleep you listened to were from Vessel, they were recreated on Vessel after the trouble with RAB they kinda just remade the songs they liked leaving out Kitchen Sink, Anathema, Slowtown, Clear, Glowing Eyes, Lovely, Ruby, Be Concerned and Forest were left and forgotton but are really good
