Initially hailed as pioneers of an entire sub genre, ANATHEMA has spent the vast majority of their career making music that defies description and easy pigeonholing. Quietly progressive and perpetually focused on new horizons, the band have been steadily and constantly evolving: they embraced languorous Floydian hues as far back as the mid 90s, when such things were wildly unfashionable; their mastery of melancholy, melody and spine-tingling atmosphere setting them proudly apart from their erstwhile peers, and as progressive music entered a new phase of credibility and renown in the 21st century, propelling them to the forefront of a nebulous but increasingly adored musical movement.
Anathema were an English rock band from Liverpool. The group was formed in 1990 by Vincent and Daniel Cavanagh, bassist Jamie Cavanagh, drummer/keyboardist John Douglas, and vocalist Darren White. The band maintained an active concert schedule throughout their career.

According to Danny Cavanagh: “[This song is] about letting go of love and moving on, even though you want to make final statement. It’s a final statement of love, blessing somebody and about moving past that, but still stating how beautiful your feelings are. You can’t hold on too much to somebody, you have to let them be who they are. If you really love somebody, you let them be themselves. That’s the whole idea. I'm grateful I got to see them once. What a magical evening it was, flawless. Covid took away my chance to see them a second time, unfortunately. I was genuinely sad when I read the announcement that they quit 😢 Didn't know they are reforming as Weather Systems! That's something exciting to keep an eye on 😊

Wow, was just watching this video and your reaction popped up, so I immediately had to watch it. Absolutely love this song, it has me in floods of tears everytime😢 because it gives me memories of my Dad and what he was going through before he passed away💙. Love you guys as always🥰
