Anatomy of the Face: The Mouth

I recently asked ZBrushWorkshops fans on Facebook what they felt was the hardest part of sculpting the face. The answer was: Lips.
Then the other day during one of the Master Classes Q & A sessions I did a quick demo on sculpting the mouth. I'm not 100% happy with the sculpt but the information is solid.

It has been 10 years and I still find this to be the best tutorial about sculpting the mouth. A lot of other ones are not even build on the right base form. They were build on a sphere.

wow fantastic!!! I followed the methodology in this video and took me no more than 30-1hr to get the lips to where I want them. Of course this is my first time sculpting a character but sure helped a TON!!! Noodling and trying to figure it out myself burned more than 2hrs :( Thank you Ryan!! @ElfenLiedd Hey there. The Anatomy of the Face workshop is the best place for the eye. The problem in succinctly explaining the eye is that you have four quadrants of the eye with several important and distinct features: glabella, supperciallary arch, frontal-sphenoidal process of zygomatic and more... These forms all have to be mastered to improve the sculpting of the eye. In the workshop, I spend about 45 minutes on the eye area alone.
